Many of us know small businesses are having a lot of difficulty these days. Restaurateurs in California have been ordered to shut down (even though politicians are unable to prove restaurants spread COVID). PPP loans are difficult to come by (at least in California). Some companies don't seem to be having a problem getting PPP. Data released by the Small Business Administration earlier this year showed the PlumpJack Group received up to $350,000 worth of PPP loans, newly-released data by the SBA indicated PlumpJack businesses - including wineries, bars, and restaurants - received more than eight times that amount at nearly $3 million altogether. The kicker is, you'll never guess who partially owns the PlumpJack Group....surprise, it's California Governor Gavin Newsom.
