Pres Biden Is The Smart Choice

Wouldn't be much representation for small towns and rural areas

Do you think small towns and rural areas get representation now?

Take Wyoming. They get ignored in presidential elections because they don't matter, they always vote Republican, so who cares about them? For the Senate they have two votes like everyone else, but it only matters if your senator can do deals well or not. In the House, they only have one. People mostly ignore Wyoming.

With PR different groups of people join together. You could have a farmer's party, and all the farmers in the country vote for that party and they represent those people.

In Germany they one Land (state) that is 21% of the country's population. It doesn't control the politics of the country.

In 2021 29.1% voted SPD (like the Democrats), 26% voted for CDU (like Republicans) and 16.1% voted Greens, 11.4% FDP (center right), 7.3% voted AfD.

So there are a range of people in Nord Rhein-Westphalia and they all vote differently and all of their votes COUNT. Each party gets those votes and it goes for those parties equally.

So, farmers get their representation, rural folk get representation and city folk get theirs.

Then you have a coalition which has to be sensible and do the best for the country, each party needs to do the best for their voters, otherwise they'll be insignificant.

Which is why Germany has a better electoral system.

Denmark also has PR and is sensible politics.

The UK doesn't and had a freakoid like Boris Johnson and Liz Truss etc in power.
