The Stunning Hypocrisy of Religious Scolds.

he Pillar alleged:

  • the information it had obtained, from a data vendor, was "commercially available"
  • it had analysed it to reveal "location data and usage information for each numbered device"
  • one mobile device "correlated" to Monsignor Burrill and "emitted app data signals" from Grindr
  • it showed visits to gay bars while Monsignor Burrill had been travelling on USCCB business

I don't see the "hypocrisy" here at all- if you could clarify?

The Monsignor was busted for alleged homosexuality and did the right thing by quitting.

If he would have stayed on, even when the Catholic Church chucks out other priests for taking it in the caboose, that would have been hypocrisy, no?

Um, no. The fact is, he belongs to a church that condemns homosexuality, but he's out there picking up people in gay bars.

This is also the asshole who insisted that the Church should try to deny President Biden Communion because he recognizes a woman's right to choose.
