A deputy minister in Poland’s conservative government is out of a job after arguing that the country needs more immigrants, according to reports.
Poland’s wpolityce.pl website reported that in a debate, deputy Investment and Development Minister Paweł Chorąży had said that the influx of immigrants to Poland should increase in order to maintain the country’s economic growth.
Public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency quoted Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki as saying that Chorąży had "gone decidedly too far in some of his comments".
Chorąży also said that the repatriation of people of Polish origin from countries like Kazakhstan was difficult for reasons including their lack of Polish-language skills, according to Polish Radi
