With public schools you get public school teachers unions. I have nothing against teachers, I was one at one time. Good teachers are a marvel and one of America's greatest resources.

Teachers unions prevent anyone from telling the good teachers (almost certainly the majority) from the poor ones. If poor teachers are identified they might be fired. Not that this is easy, mind you, but it does present the possibility.

Obama is not crazy. He is, of course, hypocritical, but he is a politician. And, he's even a creature of the Chicago Machine. Of course he's a hypocrite.

Sectarian schools are not the only alternative. Charter schools, where the Democrats have not yet destroyed them, provide excellent educations. They serve primarily brown and black underprivileged youth. They are not nearly the alternative they might be, of course, because their non-union work force is targeted by Democrats and teachers' unions for dismissal. What a shame.

We need to get rid of teachers at the HS and college level. Give the kid a textbook and tell him when to show up for the test.
