Crimea's already lost. Ukraine should be fast-tracked into NATO and a symbolic military presence should be negotiated. If you're right about Putin being Hitler, than Obama is certainly channeling Chamberlain.

Putin like most Russians sees America as a corrupt cesspool, filled with greed and debauchery, out to conquer other counties for economic or political gain. They never take a look in the mirror though, if they did they would discover Russia is a lot worse than anything the west could create.

Really the only thing Putin respects is military force, which is why western leaders including Obama have failed over Ukraine.

What Russia would have respected is NATO troops in Ukraine, which would allow Ukraine to go on an offensive against the rebels and defeat them. But since no country wants to give security guarantees to Ukraine, Putin is sure to get all of Eastern Ukraine eventually.

Now there's a strong sentiment in Ukraine that we made a big mistake."[3] He also said that, "In the future, no matter how the situation is resolved in Crimea, we need a much stronger Ukraine. If you have nuclear weapons, people don't invade you."[5]
