Question about God and praying for help.

My God never spit in your face. My God loves you deeply and you can count on it that whoever harmed you in His Name is going to answer for it. Do not let what some false Christian did to you stop you from coming to Jesus Christ. Please! I'm telling you. The LORD loves you. He would never spit in your face. EVER.

I grew up in a deeply religious, conservative Christian family. You can't swing your arm at a family gathering without hitting church workers from pastors down to ushers and readers. I understand your viewpoint. I just disagree with it.

Im not here to tell you thst you're wrong; justthst your view of God is different thsn mine. I hope your Faith is a great strength to you and meets your needs. It doesn't meet mine. Have a wonderful day.
I am sorry for whoever hurt you. I'm going to be praying for you in the next few weeks that God reveals His great love for you and that it will give you enough reason to reconsider. Until then, just keep in mind that God does answer prayer and that He loves you very much.

If it was an individual who had done me wrong, we would not be having this discussion. It has been Life, Fate, or whatever other term you choose to use thst has done me wrong.

Your God soeaks of his great Mercy, and Love. I do not believe he truly shows that to all of His people. He hasn't to me and He didn't to my father, the most truly decent and Faithful person I've ever known.

I have moved on from your God. Please save your prayers for those who need and want them. I want nothing from yoyr God, even if He were to offer snything to me.

If I needed help I'd ask for it from the LORD. Why should you perish? Why not repent and call upon the LORD to save you before you are destroyed? Hell has no exits. Why go there?

It is written:
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright, for the end of that man is peace. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
Psalm 37:37,38
Can you really prove that hell exists?
Hell is mentioned over 400 times in the Old Testament and again many, many times in the New Testament. Jesus Christ would not warn us about hell if it were not a real place. Ex-Satanists have testified that hell is real and many have testified of seeing Lucifer there. Others have had visions of hell while interceding for the lost, etc.
So in other words, you have nothing, Spiderman is mentioned more than 400 times in DC Comics and we all know that he doesn't really exist for lack of real proof. So, got any real proof?
The comic book characters are based on fallen angels, demons and the occult. If you have any burn them. That would be a good start for you.
So I should burn comics out of superstition? And I'm glad that you realize that you have no real proof about what you say about Jesus and the bible. In other words, you live in a fantasy world.

You were born with the sin of Adam and Eve. You must be born again. It is written:

John 3 King James Version (KJV)
3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

24 For John was not yet cast into prison.

25 Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Total lie. Don't believe it. The Authorized King James Version Holy Bible is the pure Word of God. Reading it and acting upon it's instruction has led to millions of souls being saved, delivered, and healed. No other book on earth has had such results. What book are you reading?
Have any proof of a soul being saved? And if the god of that bible does exist, why does it make deformed babies? I've always wondered that.

Watch this and then decide if hell is where you really want to be. Making an informed decision is your best move here. So let's get you informed and THEN you can decide.

It's a bunch of cartoons. So hell is a cartoon?

I also believe it is wrong to ask God for something like better health, or that your children would stop doing drugs, or some such thing. For instance, I have a bad back and surgery could be in my future but I would never ask God to make it heal because there are so many people worse off than I am.
It sounds as if you believe that God is too busy with the needs of others and doesn't have enough time to answer every prayer, Predfan. God has no limitations. Now let me ask you a question. If you knew that reading the King James (Authorized Version) Holy Bible would be health to all your bones and all your flesh - would you be willing to read the Word of God each day? Because God's promises are yea and amen. Jesus Christ never said no to anyone who asked for healing. He is still healing people today. Do you want to be healed?

It is written:

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. - Philippians 4:6

This was the exact argument that others have made over the years, they say "Do you think that there is a limit to God's power and so it needs to be reserved for only the needy?" I don't really know how to answer that question except to say that in my mind, it's not about limits, it's just that I already have been given so much, it seems greedy to ask for more,

I'm interested in hearing from every person who believes in a God. Atheists will not be a part of this discussion.

I have had a long term discussion with people of faith on this subject but I never thought to bring it up before the people here. I always maintained that one should not ask God for things or help for yourself. I believe that you should pray for others, but not for yourself. Asking for forgiveness, sure, but don't ask for things like a promotion at work, or help with your finances, help losing weight, or even to save your marriage. Pray for others, for their marriages, their kids, maybe even their finances but not for your own.

Seems selfish to me.

What do your beliefs tell you about this?
Do you want the Lord to heal you?

Why did the Lord make me fucked up in the first place that I'd need him to heal me? He screw up?

I'm pretty sure there are rules for this forum and I'm pretty sure you are breaking them. First off, stick to the discussion.

Is asking for healing for yourself selfish? Is asking for deliverance selfish?

I don't think it is selfish at all.

I think it is, certainly to some degree.

If you notice the example given to us by Jesus, we seek the Father's will.

So what is the will of the Father for your life? The key is to seek his will because you trust that this is what is best for you and those around you.

In the Bible we are commanded to pray for each other and for such things as healing. I see no difference in praying for your own healing. Why would it be OK to pray for another's healing but not your own? It makes no sense. You simply want a body that is able to function properly so that you can be about the "Father's business", which is not selfish at all.

Well I think it depends. In my situation, where I have disk problems in my back, it seems to me to be selfish to ask for healing. Why? Because I have already been blessed in my life and complaining because everything isn't quite perfect is petty. It's almost as if I wasn't grateful for the things I do have.

In Corinthians Paul writes that he pleaded three times with the Lord for healing, but was told by being weak in himself, he is strong in the grace of the Lord. While I don't think it would be selfish of you to ask for healing (Paul did), being strong in the grace of the Lord may be what God has in mind for you. I would recommend at least asking--and perhaps you already have, and feel no need to ask again. In either case, may God continue to bless you.

My PM box is always open for conversation.

"idiot", is that a word you learned from Jesus?

You were born with the sin of Adam and Eve.

Really.

14When Jesus saw this, He was indignant and told them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15Truly I tell you, whoever does not receivethe kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”16And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them, and blessed them.…
Do you understand why Jesus told them to let the little children come to him? Little children are covered - they do not go to limbo if they die. They go straight to heaven. Once you are of the age of accountability - you are to come to the LORD and repent of your sins as it is written in Romans 10:9,10. There is an age of accountability - but little children are not of the age of accountability. That is why it is foolishness to baptize babies. One must know what they are doing to repent and be baptized. A baby cannot possibly repent. You're problem is that you have not rightly divided the Word of God. You must be born again. Read John Chapter 3 and Romans 10:9,10.

Interesting that you quote "Romans" above the word of your proclaimed God.
