Democrats fear that President Donald Trump’s winning economy may spell electoral doom for them in 2020, Politico reports, citing at least one top Democrat pollster.

“Republicans have long believed that if only the economy held up, President Donald Trump could win a second term,” Politico’s David Siders wrote this weekend in a piece filed from Las Vegas, Nevada: Following another spate of positive economic news — and without a cohesive economic message of their own — many Democrats are starting to fear he might. Anxiety on the left reached new heights last week, with the government reporting that the nation’s economy had grown at an unexpectedly fast pace in the first quarter of the year. While Trump took credit for the surging economy, Democratic presidential contenders were immersing themselves in the Mueller report and debating whether incarcerated felons should be allowed to vote.

They cannot stand it: America is Great, plenty of oil, plenty of jobs, roaring economy, President proven to being more honest than any politician would have ever been found....Especially the Surrender Monkey!

They CANNOT stand it.

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched. There is still a year and a half to go. Remember, the economy tanked just before Jr. was to leave, and it happened quite quickly.

There’s no point blaming the tragedies of socialism on the flaws or corruption of particular leaders. Any system which allows some people to exercise unbridled power over others is an open invitation to abuse, whether that system is called slavery or socialism or something else.

BUT we saw it coming.....with the DemonRAT caused housing bubble!

Do you think Democrats can screw the economy enough to win the election?

So far, it doesn't look good for them.

Trump can take credit for a good economy but he has no specific claim to any policy or legislation that has done anything for the working class people who voted for him.

Trump's tax plan that he enacted has already contributed 3 Trillion dollars to the debt. And, we still have to see how the tariffs with China are going to work out. Right now, farmers and steel workers aren't too happy with Trump.

That is correct. Totally different money problem. It was actually mother of all corrections and was going to happen one way or another sooner or later.

Democrats root for a poor economy. People feel bad. Misery loves company. The Evonomy ebbs and flows. Why can’t Democrats run on a platform to make the economy better?

Because they have dedicated the last fifty years to gaining misery votes. They are completely locked into that message. If they change it they lose....if Trump reduces the misery, they lose. Their only hope is to destroy America so they can win an election.

You got to spill some water when you turn around an economy WITHOUT A MAGIC WAND ......Look to unemployment GDP historic stock market....all signs that we are in a better place than the Surrender Monkeys IT AIN'T NEVER COMING BACK!

I think if Trump delivers on a huge infrastructure plan(bill) and makes it come to fruition that will push him over the top.

The middle class tax cut should have been much bigger. The other two should stay what they are.

There is a growing surge of support for Trump coming from the bottom economic tier. People of all stripes are working again
and they feel liberated. No poll is going to be able to measure that. It's another blind value that eludes polling.
