The British soldiers loved her during WWll because she wasn't a beauty queen movie star, but looked and acted more like the girl waiting for them back home.
While other famous celebrates went on tours to safe areas well behind the lines in Europe to entertain the soldiers. Vera Lynn went to less known out of the way places in Burma, India, and North Africa, and very close to the fighting, to entertain the troops. ...
