That was the second part of his speech. The first part came right out and said "you didnt bvuild that"....then later he started to talkkl about a teacher helped you...and then finally he said roads and bridges helped you.

The direct quote, repeated: "If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."

So if we have a business, we didn't build that business, someone else did.

He didnt mention roads at all in the statement we are refering to.

It's so very difficult to look up what he said. Takes at least a full 20 seconds.

Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.

That was the President's point. To suggest otherwise is intellectual dishonesty. The same that some of Obama's surrogates practice from time to time. Making it such a focal point is not helpful to the Governor however.

Do you honestly think the President's point of view is anywhere close to how most of America sees it? Have you heard Romney say anything to suggest that he doesn't see it as most of America sees it?

We'll see that in November I suppose. From the polling data, the President seems to be doing just fine with how most of America sees it.

I think the American people understood the President. It is, after all, the truth. All of us are warmed by the fires stoked by others. The environment for entrepreneurs is guaranteed by the government through programs and policies. It's not as fair as it should be to favor small businesses; I will totally cosign that.

As for Governor Romney's point of view, he's preaching to the choir which is exactly what he should be trying to do.

If Obama had phrased it as Mitt did, there wouldn't be any controversy. If he had just pointed out that entreprenours have invested and risked their fortunes, time, talents, and vision in creating businesses resulting in many others having a source of income by which to support themselves and their families. And then added that we also commend those who had the vision and resourcefulness, who invented the products, who provided the education, who voted the bonds, and share in the investment of a shared infrastructure.

Had he done that he would have been applauded by conservatives for sure.

But he didn't say that. He said that, if you've got a business, you didn't build that. Slip of the tongue? Freudian slip? Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, this President has done would suggest that he believes that with all his heart.

There is a huge difference between Mitt Romney applauding all of those, all of us, who have worked behind the scenes and contributed in so many ways to make the Olympic games possible. He didn't say, so you won a medal? You didn't do that.

The election should be about semantics? I choose the ECONOMY.
