Imagine you are Bill Bell-a-check. Someone tells you that a rich bastard in Pittsburgh has offered every Pittsburgh Steeler a "bounty" of $50,000 if they beat your team next time you play them. What do you do?

Nothing.

The Steeler players are already poised to do their best to beat your team any time they play one another. The $50,000 x 44 (or whatever) is meaningless. They can't try harder to win, and so what if they do?

This Russian Bounty thing is a typical New York Times hysterical brouhaha. It means nothing. The intelligence is probably flawed and even if true, all it means is that there are a couple very stupid people high up in the Russian intelligence community. Blaming some quantifiable number of American combat deaths on this so-called "bounty" is the height of idiocy. Something Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer would say. Not to be taken seriously.

Bad analogy.

Take it to when the Saints offered bounties for hurting other players.
