Sanctuary Cities should have Federal Funding withheld and used to build border barrier

Its the perfect solution.

Hold back federal funds from cities that break federal law and use those funds to build the border barrier with Mexico.

Sanctuary cities would finance the barrier.

San Franciso alone gets nearly $1 billion/ year in federal subsidies.

That is an interesting idea. Trump says he can get the wall built for $12 billion. Start adding up all those sanctuary cities and sounds like you may have paid for the wall.

It's going to cost a lot to take the criminal illegals to court and immediately deport them. E Verify shpuld be used to hire employees. Jobs for US citizens only. If you are here and are illegal
There is no wall coming
I disagree. Trump is a doer, not a talker.

We already have plenty of them we can deport, felons serving time in prison and those few detained currently the border, complaining about how they get treated worse here than they did in the 'refugee' camps they came from. Apparently the food and air conditioning aren't up to their expectations or something.

Border chalk line at this point
Reducing or eliminating foreign aid to Mexico would help with the cost. Once the wall is paid for, the aid would be reinstated.

No. What Trump needs to do is convince the courts that the government has a compelling interest in enforcing immigration laws, and that sanctuary cities only hinder that by harboring people who came here illegally.

Have the Supreme Court re-evaluate this as a states rights issue. The 10th Amendment shouldn't be construed as to allow a state or municipality to harbor people who have clearly broken federal law.

Lol "wall?" Trump's already ruled that out. At best, it'll be in intermittent series of fences. Enjoy the next 4 years. And no, your low-skill no-education job won't be coming back.

Someone pretty please explain why you'd build a wall where space isn't limited? I'm not the cost analyst, but seems electronics, dogs, helicopters, weapons and ENFORCEMENT is all that's necessary. Perhaps space on a satellite or two.

Well if he's not doing anything, why are you so angry?

Its a damned good idea. Once there is no Fed money coming in the will have to raise taxes on those in the city. Wonder how that will go over.

These cities are breaking Fed law and have been doing so for decades. Bout time that someone makes them accountable.

Cities that break federal law are going to lose federal funding. That is a given.

Earmarking that money to HELP finance the barrier is the perfect solution.

Those cities who want to conceal illegal immigrants would ultimately finance the barrier and they won't need to hide illegals anymore.
