How comforting to know that the Fed never changes. They will take your home and throw you out in the street if you are just $1.50 short on your taxes, then they will spend millions of those dollars on things they do not even want or need, then when they might actually use them, practically give them away instead at a lose of 79/80ths of the money spent so that the people who paid the taxes to keep their homes in the first place end up out in the street anyway.

Yes, exactly. The Fed is bloated and when it's not incompetent it is corrupt.

Great example OP.

Thanks.

What conditions were those trailers in that they sold? If it was cheaper to buy new ones then to refit old ones I don't see the problem. However, 40k is a steep price to pay for new ones I think.

Well, if you bothered to read the article, it says they were the latest 2017 model. So, chances are they weren't in a bad condition. One trailer went for $500, but may have been worth $40,000.

after being abused by a bunch of low life neanderthal welfare recipients from New Orleans I doubt they are still worth 40k.

I wonder what kind of condition they were in. Remember after Katrina, there was a huge problem with mold in the trailers they were giving the victims. It's possible they were damaged by water during storage and maybe they didn't pass inspection. In that case, selling them to people who wanted to spend more money fixing them up would be better than simply destroying them. At least they'd get some money out of them.

Of course, that would be assuming that the federal government is responsible with money and not corrupt. So many departments with so many bureaucrats. The amount of money they get depends on what they spent the previous year so there is a lot of waste at the end of the year as they spend like fools just to ensure a huge budget the next year.

I always find it curious how some people get helped after disasters while others don't. If there is a flood or hurricane, the government helps. If someone just loses their home in a storm or it burns down, they get nothing and if they don't have insurance, they are on their own. Never could figure out why some get so much while others are literally on the street.

It's the quantity of the victims. The fewer people it happens to the less likely they'll get help.

Yes, it is. The problem is that the people will act in a ridiculous manner too, and the govt doesn't want to be seen to do things wrong, it affects the head guy. Bush with Katrina, was it his fault? Not really, it was the whole country's fault, but it's his head on the line, so Obama and Trump have made sure they're SEEN to be doing the right thing.

If you bothered to read the article they were used for flood victims in LA LAST YEAR and were not worth refurbishing. Of course the truth doesn't fit in your propaganda, also the GSA doesn't put these auctions together over night, the decision to sell them probably occurred in your dear leaders admin.

Another failed thread posted by a far left drone that does not care about facts, only about that which is connect to debunked far left religious narratives and not connected to reality.

If the OP'er did their research on the subject the would have discover FEMA changed their policy about Trailers after Sandy.

Because of the possible toxic materials FEMA trailers are made from and the lawsuits from Katrina days FEMA has move away from trailer usage.

Most Harvey Victims Won’t Be Housed In FEMA Trailers | Texas Standard

Also if the OP'ER would research the issue before jumping onto the story they would discover the money wasted on these trailers were a waste of taxpayers money.

The government could have pulled the trailers from auction and offered them for Harvey survivors but knowing the condition of the trailers the OP'er would be screaming about how the government is letting people live in unsafe trailers, so this is another damn if the government does and damn if they don't.

100% speculation on your part, but this shit is nothing new. Want to see waste? Google footage of any branch of the military disposing of stuff after wars from Vietnam on down to WW1. This waste has been going on since we have had a government. Why is it such an issue now?

This was actually and issue after Katrina. There was a scandal involving the govt. putting hood rats up in toxic trailers.

and simply looking at more than one news source you'd find:

FEMA auctioned disaster trailers before Harvey made landfall
FEMA officials said that the units sold had all been used to house survivors of last year’s floods in Southern Louisiana, who returned them with damages that made them unfit for redeployment.

the funny part is they didn't advertise them for sale as unfit for deployment so one way or another they're gaming. also, this is far from the first time it's happened, unfortunately. happened under obama also.

same link:

FEMA has auctioned off trailers during disasters before.

As Superstorm Sandy churned up the Atlantic coast in 2012, dozens of trailers sat idle in a supermarket parking lot in Northeastern Pennsylvania, — about two hours from the New Jersey coast.

Maybe they're not. But maybe they're better off being used by other people who have suffered in a hurricane or whatever, than being sold off.

That would be the logical thing to do with the trailers but government regulations might not have allowed it. Regulations often defy common sense, much like the train that couldn't be backed off of a wooden bridge because regulations do not allow a train to be moved at all if it's on fire. As a result, the entire bridge burned down because the train couldn't be backed up a little bit to spare it.

I've seen perfectly good military housing units get demolished because they didn't comply with the newest regulations. Never mind that not a damn thing was wrong with them. Once a new regulation is in place, it must be adhered to whether it makes sense or not.

It's our government at work. And we wonder why our taxes are so ridiculous. Government doesn't take in what it actually needs. It finds a way to waste what it takes in.

Was waiting for Democrat douchebags to get around to blaming the Hurricanes on Trump. I guess that time is here. May they all rot in hell for politicizing such tragedies. :321:
