An American gun company has found a way around the anti-Russia sanctions that have banned imports of the Kalashnikov assault rifle: Make them here, in the U.S.A.

AK-47s Soon to be made in USA - Jan. 20 2015

There is absolutely no reason for this gun to be made in the states. Anyone with any brain should realize this. The U.S. has the most heavily-armed civilian population on the planet with an average of 88.8 guns for every 100 people. Isn't it enough?

Use the far left mentality on this one, the criminals are going to use them anyway so why not make them here.

After the far left wants to disarm everyone including the police and allow criminals the guns..

According to the gun nutters on here, you can't have enough guns. No way. Especially a cheap, reliable semi auto rifle that has a ton of accouterments to dress it up, that can be abused and neglected and still works like a dream. Gang bangers and criminals will also love the new availability.

Gun nutters say not a problem. It is our right to be able to buy cheap AK47's.

variants have been made in the USA for a long time

IMHO: Like it or not, it's a legal product. If you want that to change, there is no use just bitching about it, get your votes together and get the law changed. The Second Amendment clearly protects the right of the individual to own a gun, but not ANY gun he wants.

I'm not opposed to reasonable restrictions, but I am opposed to an end-run around the Constitution. So get your votes together and do it right.

You just lucky that the illegal slave labor you were exploiting did have such things..

It makes no difference whatsoever WHERE a gun was made....except that wherever they are made, there are job positions to fill, there is money flow, there's a market for related goods and services such as packaging, shipping, real estate, machinery, maintenance, et al.

If it will provide more jobs than folks accidentally or otherwise criminally killed by them? What the hell, why not?

Than dont buy one.
And I fail to see the difference in where they are made. If someone wants an AK they're going to get one,I would prefer it benefit an American company rather than some eastern block country.
But thats just me.

What a dumbfuck...you can bet the US made AK will cost more than the cheap knock offs that already flood the gun market.

They're already made in the US.

And they're imported from other countries.

Last, they're extremely cool and fun, are utterly reliable, and chamber an effective round.

They just aren't too accurate.

But, within 50 yards, a great self defense weapon.

And, without intentionally abusing one, it is virtually certain to fire first time, every time, mag after mag.
