They have been suggesting this, although it never goes anywhere.

If its cheaper, I say go for it.

I think it's more feasible now than ever before, more people deal in plastic rather than cash. I never carry cash, so I would barely notice the switch.

What will become of the Dollar Store when there is no dollar?

Doesn't matter to me as long as I can exchange that coin or bill for something real, something tangible, whose value is determined by a free market. Gold would be fine.

Thread topic, well, could be a legitimate discussion.

Poll? Ummm... no, this is just more pathetic, libroid, partisan hack garbage from one of the boards stupidest, mouth breathing socialists...

The downside is weight. Trust me you will feel the difference.

Not suggesting its a factor, just a commentary from a person living in a no one dollar world.

A nonpartisan, investigative arm of Congress is calling for the United States to stop printing dollar bills and switch entirely to $1 coins instead.

See: Kill the dollar bill, for coins instead? - Nov. 28, 2012

I'd rather have the paper cash then coins. Switching to coins would mean re-programming vending machines to recognize the damn things (costing manufacturers) and an accumlulative amount of coins will weigh you down.

To me, it should stick around. How can something be fixed when its not even broken in the first place?

God bless you always!!! :) :) :)
