Singapore Airlines turbulence: Flight experienced 'rapid change in gravitational force', investigation finds
A 73-year-old British man died from a suspected heart attack when the flight hit severe turbulence on 21 May. Now, an investigation into the incident has discovered the severity of the turbulence.
Damn, the cabin pics are something.....Looks like when the great unwashed disembark from a Spirit airlines flight to New Orleans.
A Singapore Airlines flight hit by severe turbulence experienced a rapid change in gravitational force and a 54m (178ft) altitude drop in four seconds, an investigation has found.
It comes after a 73-year-old British man died from a suspected heart attack after the incident on 21 May on the London-Singapore flight.
The Transport Safety Investigation Bureau said: "The vertical acceleration changed from negative 1.5G to positive 1.5G within 4 seconds. This likely resulted in the occupants who were airborne to fall back down."
It added: "The rapid changes in G over the 4.6 seconds duration resulted in an altitude drop of 178ft (54m), from 37,362ft to 37,184ft. This sequence of events likely caused the injuries to the crew and passengers."
Well at least it was not the "climate change" hoax that the left tried blaming clean air turbulence on.
To be clear gravity itself did NOT change, the acceleration forces affecting passengers DID change and the abrupt changes resulted in the mayhem.
A Gravity force unit is called a "G" indicating acceleration forces equal to one earths gravity. The 3 gravities themselves were not deadly, the rapid change resulted in the mayhem, NOT the actual gravities themselves.
You can easily accelerate from 0-60 in 5 seconds and only say this car is kidna fast, if you accelerate from 0-60 while walking (because said car hits you) you die.
