So why is there an Easter bunny for the holiday celebrating Jesus' resurrection?

Can anyone answer this?

Probably for the same reason there is a Santa Claus for His birth, commercialism and for the children

One (or more) of the posters said it has roots in pagan religion.

Pagans are idiots

Was just talking with a Muslim about honor-killings. They are true idiots if they believe in that stuff.

it was an adaptation of other spring rituals.

instead of crushing local traditions, christians adopted many local rituals that became traditions over time

They were already traditions.
You can take Easter, which originates in the nordic spring ritual embracing Ostera, the goddess of fertility.
Eggs and rabbits are the Captain Obvious symbols of that.
Or Christmas, which is the ritual of the winter solistice, even the candle ligthed christmas tree as a symbol of the returning sun was snatched by the christian intruders.
They did not know that originally in their palestinian dirthole.
Your Halloween, derived from the catholic Irish "all hallows day", was before the missionaires did their brainwash job a celtic ritual at the end of october, when during the earlier darkness and grey days the souls of the ancestors might have shown up, and people disguised themselvses to daunt them.
It was called Samhain.

For all of this mutilation of traditions over thousands of years I deeply contemn this desert superstition.

In contrary to the enlightened palestinian desert christians, they knew pretty scientific the background of the rituals, the cicle of seasons. If you have a look at a globe, you know why.

Well, if you refer to the today's lesbo hipster bitches dancing naked on some hills during Walpurgis Night around camp fires, I agree. Mental illness at it's finest.
But we have the naturalistic rituals, incomparably older than the christian god, based on our specific environment.
People in India have that too, based on their environment. And they practice it, not abused by desert monotheists.
This is what culture means. It is always local. Not globalized by a silly book.

They are holding auditions to replace the bunny. I vote for the cat. "Buc-mow, buc-mow".

That is the Easter story

When Jesus was on the cross the guards gave him gall to drink which made him pass out, people thinking he was dead took him down from the cross and wrapped him in white linen , in accordance to Jewish custom. They placed him in a tomb with a heavy stone blocking the entrance and posted a guard . It was about dawn when the guard heard noises from the tomb, (Jesus had been passing copious amounts of gas and was in pain from drinking the gall and wasn't dead at all). The guard picking up his torch and moved the rock back a little bit from the tomb , but the torch ignited the gas and boom! The guard was knocked out and the stone blew off the face of the tomb. Jesus being very cold wrapped the white sheet around him and hopped out of the tome as his feet hurt from the holes in his feet. He was also hungry and seeing the guard’s lunch basket, he picked it up and stated hopping away, a Shepard on another hill was amazed to see what looked like a bunny hopping around with a basket, hence Jesus and the easter bunny story came to be

Rome decided to incorporate the pagan beliefs of many of the other countries in Europe, and combine it with the belief system that they had learned from the Jews, so that they could get everyone to believe the same way, hence increasing the hold that Rome had on their kingdom. That's why you have pagan rituals and imagery like baby chicks, rabbits, eggs (all pagan fertility symbols), as well as the reason that Easter happens right around the Spring Solstice, instead of happening a week after Passover (like it should). But, that's because of the discrepancy between the Jewish calendar and the Julian calendar.

They did the same thing with Christmas by the way, with the yule log, Christmas tree, exchanging gifts and putting the holiday on the Winter Solstice.

Christianity doesn't sound like a religion that I can trust if this is the case.

They all take something from somewhere else. The virgin birth story was around for thousands of years before any of the modern religions.
