Everyone remembers how Social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook and especially Twitter began deplatforming, de-monetizing, and erasing posts that they "Deemed" to violate their terms of service.

Just about every influencer who said anything about how the vaccines were promoted, the function of masks, or anything about the Hunter Biden laptop was instantly silenced.

Anyone who discussed the Ukraine war was de-monetized and those who spoke out against any DEI initiatives including homosexuals and transvestites influencing children with explicit materials were deemed to be guilty of "hate speech " and deplatformed. Including leading psychologists and religious Podcasters.

The Trump administration is through with dealing with this. (He got de-platformed) Because social media had a pass on acting like a publisher because the President (at the time) wanted them to silence anything they deemed they didn't like.

So it's going to be over....they do this again and people will be able to sue when they act like a publisher. Including people like POTUS, Jordan Peterson, Matt Walsh, and etc. Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and etc.

Not sure how getting rid of Section 230 will solve the problem.

If anything, it will probably make platforms more restrictive, because they won't want to get sued. You won't see anything except cute kitten videos.

Truth social is going to need a big legal department.

That's not what was discussed in the article thread. An addition of a new clause that will nullify 230 if the platform acts like a publisher. Leaving giants like Facebook and YouTube vulnerable for demonetizing sites moderators have political differences with.

Except most demonetization doesn't happen because of political differences; it happens because of things like obscenity or violence or copyright infringement.

That's not true at all.

It's a nice WISH or HOPE. But that's not what happened.

(As hundreds(thousands) have testified already)

Which is why I'm saying that they are in deep trouble. Truth Central might be as well.

I follow a number of channels on YouTube. I've never seen one demonitized for a political opinion.
