Somali pirates seize Danish-owned ship: US Navy

I said nothing about video taping anything. That's your sick weirdo interpretation. You probably get off on watching these Islamo thugs saw off someones head. Please note, I did say harsh but extremely effective. However, you seem to want this to go on and on. You probably feel we should apologize to them and offer them money. You also no doubt, would have been in favor of invading Japan with thousands of American lives lost, as opposed to dropping two very lethal bombs.

Sure am glad the FBI negotiators and the Navy who are on scene and are highly trained to do this sort of thing aren't contemplating for one second doing ANYTHING you suggest. They have strict orders on those navy ships to NOT make threatening moves, to negotiate, to get the hostage out alive. That is all. No shoot 'em ups, no empty gestures. Results.
If it means those 4 pirates get money, they will do that. The hostage's employer has a policy to pay ransom, and will do so to end this standoff without loss of life. And the FBI and navy wants the pirates in custody, not dead.
This is a hostage situation. Once that is over, hopefully peacefully, the pirates overall will be dealt with. These 4 pirates are small fry. They are not important, even for making a macho statement.

Your comments on my supposed love of murderous terrorists and not invading Japan just show how goofy you are. You have no idea what I think of terrorists or World War II, or what I have done in the service of this country.

I'm sure you are correct about your assumption the Navy is instructed to stand down. With this appeasement Socialist cabal in charge, how could anything other be the answer. After all, these are not criminal terrorists. They are misguided freedom fighters simply trying to make a living. They will get their money regardless the safety of the hostage.

Yes, my comments about your misguided affection for these thugs is justified. However, my comment about Japan was thrown just for salsa. I don't want to hear what you may or may not have done in the service of your country. It is irrelevant and in all probability untrue.

If my suggestion in dealing with these terrorist had been followed, this affair would have ended safely for the hostage hours ago. With the extreme threat I suggested, these criminals couldn't surrender, wanting to get into jail fast enough.

You assume these scrawny, desperate pirates are like you: Easily frightened, easily out manuevered, Dull witted, weak, and without skills.
I don't glorify them, but I do recognize them as very dangerous men. They must be exterminated once this hostage standoff is successfully ended. Not all the women and children, and grandmothers and honest merchants and every citizen of Somalia and Yemen, right down to the goat herders. Just the pirates.
I am curious about how did the 3 pirates who were tossed/jumped overboard when the crew fought back, managed to get back on board the Alabama and take the captain. And their weapons - the AKs - if the 3 pirates went into teh drink, their guns were lost or at least soaked with saltwater and would be useless (?), or the AKs were left aboard. I don't quite get it, but the reports are sketchy.
And the hostage escaped, earlier today (it is several time zones different) swam away, and the pirates swam after him and forced him back to the lifeboat, all in plain view of the navy ship(s).
I don't know if the navy has maintinaed a close watch with their own craft deployed. I hope they do. Twists and turns and missed oppurtunities, and everyone is getting very tired.
I hope that special ops has been sent out to these ships.
Just so you understand one thing: Obama is not the on sight commander. He is not calling the shots, making the decisions. MAERSK has insisted that they will pay ransomm, they do not want this captain murdered. Period. Obama and the FBI and the military should not override that.
The person who is really in charge is the senior CO of the navy vessels on sight, in contact with the FBI and the 5th Fleet in Bahrain. I assure you, the FBI, that Fleet Admiral, the COs and their crews of those ships are not some of your fictitious fantasy lilly livered libs quaking in their boots, trying to find a way to surrender to pirates. They are real life 'troops'.
Our men and women in uniform who are trained and diligent in their duties deserve better respect from you. They might even try to save you, if you were in that lifeboat. Or would you want the sailors to open fire and kill all aboard the boats to end this standoff ?

You appear to be relentless in your obsession to try to make everything fit into the tiny little box that is the extremely limitted scope of your comprehension. You are capable of imagining what lies beyond that tiny box bordered by your inaccurate and unfounded opinions, but you are too lazy to make that effort. Safely in your box, cover pulled down tight.
Thank you for remaining inconsequential. The world is better with your clumsy ignorance having no influence.

I have a question: Why didn't someone blow the pirates away when the American captain was trying to escape?

That's a simple on RV. The Navy has been ordered to stand down and not hurt them freedom fighters. Have you a better explanation?
