Keyboardists just don't often get the credit they deserve, yet much of the music their respective bands put out would just suck without them. Thought I would start this thread to talk about our favorite keyboard players and songs.

My favorite guy on the keys is Rick Wakeman of the Strawbs, Yes, and solo fame. Here he is on the Yes live album Yessongs:

where would this tune be without Al Kooper... who, besides manning the piano and organ, also handled the french horn intro...

Steve Winwood doing the organ on Voodoo Chile. Tried to find actual footage of him with Hendrix doing this song from Electric Ladyland, but couldn't find any. Clapton doing Hendrix's part in this video.

John Paul Jones is mostly thought of as a Bass player, but he also played keys for Led Zeppelin, playing the Bass lines with organ pedals. Here he is playing "Since I've Been Loving You" from their third album.

Richard Wright (RIP) of Pink Floyd. Understated style. Not flashy like Emerson or Wakeman, but I can't think of another keyboardist more integral to the band's style.
