Subpoenas Flying for BridgeGate

this thread should go in the rubber room

the OP is having one major meltdown

Twenty subpoenas are being issued, seventeen of which are for individuals.

Christie went to Manahawkin and let a Sandy victim cry on his lapel yesterday for the cameras. He's in serious damage control before he goes to Florida and kisses Republican donor ass this week.

But of course anyone who weighs over 400 pounds demonstrates that they are self-destructive. They don't need to embroil themselves in a political scandal to prove that.

The shit is getting real.

I can't believe Christie dug himself in this deep.

Hubris.

This is a local event and really isn't gaining momentum despite what the media is doing.
What will blow this up is if he is caught with his hand in the cookie jar. But, not until then.

Exactly, but the Dems need to stay on it, to distract from the realities listed below.

I agree with MSNBC. I find it hard to believe that Gov. Chris Christie knew nothing about his staff's plotting a massive traffic jam on the ramp to the George Washington Bridge for political retribution.

On the other hand, I also find it hard to believe that Obama didn't know his own IRS was auditing his political enemies.

And I find it hard to believe that Obama didn't know you wouldn't be able to keep your doctor under Obamacare.

But most of all, I find it hard to believe that MSNBC host Al Sharpton didn't know Tawana Brawley was lying when she claimed to have been gang-raped by rogue cops on the Wappingers Falls, N.Y., police force.

Back in November 1987, 15-year-old Tawana Brawley was found curled up inside a plastic bag in an apartment building parking lot. She had feces and racist graffiti all over her body, her clothing was torn and burned, and she was apparently unconscious.

When she emerged from her (fake) unconsciousness, she claimed --------------

Wow, if only Progressive supported subpoenas for Fast and Furious, NSA and the IRS.

Fast and Furious was a joke and will never become serious. 2,000 guns in Mexico out of how many? 10's of millions? Also uhh..yeah, the program started in 2006...hello??

NSA has operated the same way ever since the technology to do what they do has been available to them...they were not following any administration policies given to them.

The IRS scandal is debunked as it was a Bush appointee who was also targeting left wing groups as well as conservative ones, also none were denied exempt status. They just included certain political terms like "occupy" "progressive" "tea party" "patriots" in their referencing methods. The main reason for increased scrutiny was the IRS adjusting to the changes caused by the Citizen's United Supreme Court Ruling.

FYI, 90% were right wing groups. They were delayed on an average of 9 months. :eusa_whistle:

Really? Do you know where Christie is getting ready to go as we type? Florida. Why? To meet with big name Republican donors and ask for money. Why? Do I need to answer that question for you, too?

2016 may seem like a long way off to you, but the main players are gathering money and influence now.

Were we talking about "Bridgegate" or are we talking about campaign donors? I'm confused, are you drailing your own thread?????????

Gee, I haven't drailed my own thread in a long time. Guess I'm out of practice.

News flash for those who don't pay attention to things happening outside Hooterville: This guy is running for president. There. Get it now?

And once again...the primary reason for increased scrutiny of political groups was all the changes from the Citizens United ruling....none of the groups were denied tax exempt status, and I have no idea where you get the 90% number.

Whistle away....90% or more of the 501(c)(4) apps were made by conservative groups in 2009 and 2010. That's what set off the alarm bells. The libs were happy because their guy was elected and very few apps were made by them.

And even though these groups are blatantly promoting political ideology they are still getting their apps accepted. No one has been denied yet.

maybe now we'll get to the bottom of the republican's, well- at least one Republican's "misery offensive"

That's because you inherently don't trust yourself. I don't take your insults personally.

20 Subpoenas Issued in NJ Traffic Scandal

TRENTON, N.J. January 16, 2014
20 Subpoenas Issued in NJ Traffic Scandal - ABC News

""" Christie did not address the scandal directly Thursday when he made his first public appearance outside the State House in the eight days since the lane scandal broke wide open.

He went to friendly territory — heavily Republican Ocean County — for an event initially scheduled for Jan. 8 that was postponed after the revelation of emails that appear to show Kelly, formerly a top aide, ordering the lane closures for political retribution.

The setting was the type of place that elevated Christie's national profile in the weeks following Superstorm Sandy in 2012 — a shore fire station much like the ones where he reassured worried residents in the days after the storm."""

Does this look like a guy who knows how to exert self control?

For the nonexistent coverups?????

The House has that power and they are controlled by the GOP.

If there was really something there, they would go after it. They put on a really big show, but in the end, the Tea Bag house knows they got nothin'….

I agree with you here.

The GOP and the Democrats are one in the same. NO matter which party takes power over the last several decades, the trends have never reversed.

That being said, we've been on a steady Progressive trend for over the last several decades, even when Conservatives were in power.

USSR collapsed. Mao murdered hundreds of millions. Hitler as a "National Socialist<' so it's no wonder that these Great Leap Forward Progressives, Fascists or Communists, ruin nations.

I didn't know that the House was the only ones that could issue a subpoena. How many of the twenty issued for Christie and his staff were issued by the House?
