Checked your utility bill lately? Mine was $186 for actual usage and $139 for various taxes, fees and other "charges." (That is 75% extra for the mathematically challenged.) Of course, none of these costs are figured into the federal government's official inflation statistics. Why is this happening?

The answer is that the pursuit of "social justice" requires a reduction in the standard of living for the "haves" in order to "equalize" them with the "have-nots." Since outright "socialism" is still a hard sell in this country, the strategy has become to surreptitiously raise taxes and fees through increasing the costs of doing business in the U.S. These additional costs are then passed through to the uninformed public who then complain about company profits instead of the real culprits.

The Carbon Credit tax is the latest and greatest example of this duplicity, raising billions of dollars in new revenue for the government which can then be spent on buying votes to stay in power. How does this work? A variety of social "investments" (i.e., welfare programs) shield the "have-nots" from these hidden taxes through tax credits, subventions and exemptions granted to them. As a result, their standard of living remains unaffected while the rest of us are circling the drain.

Actually, this is what happens when Republicans pass "tax cuts." The cost of the cuts is moved downward through the ecomic strata, often showing up as new sales taxes, higher property taxes, fees, etc. When you hear that Congress wants to "reduce taxes," then, hang on to your wallet.

This has been going on since Reagan started the trend for political expediency.

Actually, this is what happens when politicians can't control spending. Blaming everything on RR is a bit worn out.

Yes, they are. Taxes and fees directly related to a product or service are included in the CPI as part of the cost.

Not in this case.
The EPA regulations under this administration is the cause of this one.
Even Obama said that his new EPA Polices would raise the prices on utilities.

Our bill went up by 40 to 45.00 each month.
