People have no clue how much is happening with technological advance. Soon home genetic modification kits will be able to engineer deadly plagues, make bacteria that can produce explosives or poisons, and even simpler thinks like an invisibility cloth are off the shelf tech now. Weaponize nanites will be a huge problem is unleashed on humanity.
The only way to remove the threat of terrorism is to build a moderate faction within each ethnicity and have them work together with the rest of us, and empower them to police their own people.
That is the best strategy to defeat terrorism in the future and even that will not be 100% effective, but is still the best approach we can assemble to fight terrorism.
