Texas bill would allow state to throw out Harris County elections results
The Texas bill would remove the election responsibilities from the chief administrator to the Harris County Clerk and tax assessor.

"A Texas bill calling for the abolition of the position of elections administrator in Harris County is inching closer and closer to final passage after a Monday vote moved the legislation out of the Texas House Elections Committee. Senate Bill 1750 already passed the Senate on April 18. House Bill 3876, an identical piece of legislation, will be up for debate in the House Chamber. The measures call for the "abolition" of election administrators in counties with populations larger than 1,000,000—a metric that only applies to Harris County, which Republican state lawmakers have taken a keen interest in in the aftermath of the 2022 midterm elections.
In the 2022 Election, a state district judge voted to extend voting hours at Harris County polling places after several locations had a paper shortage, malfunctioning voting machines, and long wait times. Since then, the Harris County Elections Office report concluded that they couldn't determine if potential voters were pushed away because of the issues at polling centers. A report published by Houston Chronicle reporter Jen Rice earlier this month raised questions about the veracity of Republicans' claims, the report found zero evidence that voters were systemically disenfranchised."
Note to self, if you are going to argue for abolishing the position of an elections administrator for the first time in post-civil war Texas history; at least know the fucking name of the person who currently holds that position. Especially if you are claiming that what that person did was so diabolical and criminal that the entire position needs to be abolished.
I also don't know why you would arbitrarily set the number at 1 million...why not 500,000 or 100,000? Makes it look more obvious that you are targeting Harris county because of the butthurt of losing that county (by huge margins) in both 2020 and 2022. I assume if you abolish that position (which is more likely to be held by a Democrat) and put it into the hands of Republicans, then suddenly, Republican claims of election fraud will go away? How convenient.
