Texas Muslims Want to Build Homes and a Mosque. The Governor Says No. "Shariah law is not allowed in Texas"

Permit Catholics, Jews, and LBGTQ to move into the community and we will find out.
There is no indication they won’t. It just sounds like it is designed with Muslims in mind having a Mosque etc.

What evidence do you have for this claim since nothing in the article states that.

From the OP article:

The state’s actions have fueled opposition to the proposed housing development, known as EPIC City, before any initial plans have been submitted. At a hearing on the project in Collin County, where part of it would be located, hours of public comment included expressions of anti-Muslim hostility.

There is a category of planned communities known as “intentional living” communities planned around shared faith, causes, or ways of living. This no different.
right---insufficient information. In my town there are public hearings regarding new building projects of any
kind-----and there are always OBJECTIONS----often on
INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION. One time I objected to
some building activity adjacent to my property---with
insufficient information I actually won my demand that
the building be 30 feet from my house---weird but true

"Unwarranted fear".

You probably were still in diapers, but you missed a few events.

Where did they say that only Muslims would be allowed?

Maybe I'm assuming but it's being billed as a Muslim focused city. It appears to be being built FOR the Muslim community.

In an interview in December, Yasir Qadhi, a resident scholar at the Plano mosque, said the idea for EPIC City came as the Muslim population continues to grow in the region.

“We need more space, and there are people coming from across the country,” Qadhi said. “Dallas is now known to be a hub of people of our faith, coming not just to the city, but specifically to our mosque.”

If it's not that's fine but it certainly appears to be being built with Muslims only in mind. They are wanting to build it for the increasing population of Muslims in the area.

And, with the caveats I listed earlier, im fine with it, just so long as everyone is ok with someone building a Christian city.

Has anyone seen the word "only" anywhere?
They are building this for the increasing Muslim population in texas. It will have a mosque and a faith based k-12 school. I mean, you're right, nobody has specifically said it could only be Muslims.

I guess we'll see when we start seeing other people try to move in

Building it for Muslims doesn’t mean they only allow Muslims, only that they’re specifically catering to Muslims. Naturally that would increase the likelihood that Muslims would choose to live there.

There’s nothing to suggest that they would exclude people of other faiths.

No, they literally aren't. I guess you didn't read the actual article or the arguments back and forth.

I guess we will see. It's a Muslim centered community, maybe they will allow people of all walks there. It will help interesting to see if they let anyone and everyone in.

Wouldn't it be strange if they did this and the place was bought up by non Muslim buyers.

Would kind of defeat the purpose of their plan.

Hmm...so..if a real estate developer decides to come in and buy every remaining plot, and fill it with atheist or Christian faith people, they'd be ok with that.

Hmm...maybe so.

I'll watch and see

How would they do that?

Just go find the seller and offer them a ton of money
Okay. Then how does the real estate developer fill those houses with Christians? They’d have to resell them and couldn’t violate fair housing laws.

You have a point.. I guess they'd have to just sell them to qualified first come first serve buyers.

Not sure how many Christians would be all that interested.

Show me a single Muslim enclave anywhere in the western world where they allow other religions or gays to abide. Installing Sharia law is the second thing they do, the first is driving out all non-Muslims.

Some of us are smart enough to learn from the mistakes the French, Germans, Sweden, Danes and British have made.
