The question might be: if the entire United States had gun laws would the laws cause gun-crimes to go up, down or have no effect?

Crime would go up, generally, gun crime and crime involving other weapons. Gun control laws would prevent people from protecting themselves. That's what they are supposed to do. Gun control laws are to make crime safer. A kid, just starting out in his criminal career would use a knife or bludgeoning weapon, until he could buy a gun illegally. But, he would be facing a victim completely disarmed with no way of protecting themselves.

Supposedly, the way it is supposed to work, is that a criminal facing an unarmed victim might be inclined to let the defenseless person live and just rob or rape them. Whereas an armed victim makes it a fight to the death. If the object is to save lives, it really doesn't matter whose life is saved. The criminal's life is equally as important to save as the innocent victim.

Home from Afghanistan for just five months, 25-year-old Indiana National Guardsman Willie Cook was gunned down while shielding his two-year-old son.

CBS 2′s Dana Kozlov reports its another case of mistaken identity, with no one in custody.

Two-year-old Antoine Cook uses a toy cell phone to talk to his father. It’s all he has.

“And to know that your 2 year old has to pretend to talk to his dad,” said Laquana Norwood.

On February 2, Cook, was shot and killed while in a car near his grandmother’s East Chicago house where he was taking Antoine for a visit. The veteran was found on top of his little boy, shielding him from the 15 bullets that pierced the car.

” He saved his son he made sure that before he left the last thing he did make sure his son was okay,” said Norwood.

Antoine was hit, too, in the left leg. Another bullet skimmed his right and a third grazed the toddler’s head...........

Where does the article say he would have been carrying a weapon if the law hadn't stopped him?

Wasn't Chicago suppose to allow concealed carry weapons in 2013? Willie Cook, his family & everyone else on the street should have been packing a gun & these murderous thugs wound not have gotten away or had a chance to do this again.

Just checked & on Dec 11, 2012 Chicago had 180 days to comply with federal court mandate to allow CCW. This poor guy got attacked a month to soon. These Chicago street gangs are getting all their shootings in while they still can until citizens are allowed to shoot back. If I were in Chicago I would hide in the basement for the next month until I could sit on the front porch with an AR-15.
