President Trump won because a whole lot of Americans are sick and tired of career politicians and their games. Thus, this essay should ring a bell with a whole lot of us.

We’re too serious and yet too easy-going to have the European tradition of political satire. But as O’Rourke writes, “Feeling good about government is like looking on the bright side of any catastrophe. When you quit looking on the bright side, the catastrophe is still there.” It’s time to grow up and get seriously pessimistic. The best way to do to it is to tune into the childish humor of Barry, O’Rourke, and their lunatic company, from Aristophanes to Mencken and beyond.

Popular vote

Trump 62,985,106

Clinton 65,853,625

128,838,731 Americans that didn't give a crap about their country.

If they did, they would never have wasted their time going to the polls to vote for either of those pieces of chit

I'm not sure we don't take gov't seriously enough. In the past century or so our gov't has taken quite a bit of control over our lives that hasn't been as much to our benefit as to the politicians and bureaucrats. The idea used to be that gov't exists to serve the people, but now it feels like the reverse is happening.

Typical Libturd to drag out this trite piece of garbage. Get over it, Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States of America.

Period.

I didn't vote for either of them, neither should be allowed in the WH unless they paid for the tour.

That more people voted for Clinton than Trump gives me some hope for the future.
