Students of WWII and nazi Germany know full well that the word "evidence" was whatever Hitler wanted it to be. There was no dictionary definition; it was defined by the dictator. And anyone questioning Hitler's word could look forward to concentration camp exile at best or shoved against a wall at worst.
The same logic exists in Trump universe where he is viewed as the supreme almighty messiah whose word is always fact and any notion to the contrary is "fake news." Nowhere is this more evident than with the current state of the Republican party where any hint of doubt or questioning of any statement by the messiah or his disciples is considered sacrilege with the perpetrator sentenced, without a trial, to Trump universe purgatory. This is where Carlson finds himself, even after championing Trump to the rafters. His demise is richly deserved.
