Employment in the renewable energy industry has topped 10 million people for the first time, a 5.3% rise since 2017, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency. Almost half of this tally is in China, while 14 times as many people in the US work in the renewables sector than in the coal industry.

I think before too long solar will be cheaper and more efficient than fossil fuels. There are obviously some kinks to work out, like storage, but think about it. The energy in fossil fuels originally came from the sun. We're extracting sun energy from bio goo. It seems to me that it should definitely be possible to get energy more efficiently from direct sunlight given good enough technology.
