The good guy, the civilian...used an AR-15 to stop the killer since the police weren't there....

Gun walked in and started pulling it's own trigger?
Guy walked in with a weapon capable of slaughtering a whole church, a weapon created only for war. Unless you are at war no one needs such a thing. The gun is to blame.

I have a similar rifle.

had it for a couple of years now.

I've owned firearms for over 50 years

not once, to my knowledge, have any escaped the safe, left the house, and went on a rampage.
Making you a good guy with a gun like they all are until right before they murder one or many. And you don't need an AR-15. No normal person ever would.

Wrong, again. 90% of murderers are individuals with long histories of crime and violence and usually at least one felony, many with more than one.....which means they can't buy, own or carry a gun.....

The guy who stopped the Texas church shooter needed his AR-15 civilian rifle. The ranchers on the border need their AR-15 civilian rifles considering the drug cartels have fully automatic rifles provided by the Mexican police and military.....and the store owners in Ferguson, Baltimore and the other places where democrats burned and looted stores, needed their rifles....and because they had those rifles, their stores weren't looted and burned.....
You love guns and you are dead wrong to do so but that's what will probably kill you so so be it. No normal person needs what just slaughtered an entire church.

Except for the guy who stopped the killing with his AR-15 civilian rifle...saving 26 lives...

The church was destroyed and will be torn down. The only solution is no guns anything like what he had. 15 x 30 bullets to slaughter 27 in just a few minutes. Insanity. The 2nd Amendment must meet reality at long last. You are not going to lose your ability to protect yourself but you will lose guns like these weapons of war.

The AR-15 is not and never has been a "weapon of War." it is a civilian rifle....do you want to see an actual weapon of war....?

Those weapons of war you can be allowed. To kill 27 with those you'd need a whole lot of time and luck.

Nope.....you just need a gun free zone and lots of victims......

and as to slaughtering in a short period of time....

Nice, France, a rental Truck.....89 people murdered.....seems to me that is a lot more than 26.....
Bombs are better than guns. We killed tens of thousands with just one not long ago. Those also should be banned.

A Catholic did the same thing in OKC.
That was 168. This gunman would have needed a bigger church but he had 450 bullets.

2aguy must have figured out that you wouldn't be shooting into a church blindly and the killer had already headed outside when the "good guy" hiding behind a truck fired on him. The slaughter in the church was already over. The gun is to blame.

Wow.....the actual testimony by the actual survivor who was about to be murdered by the shooter, and said he left because he saw the guy in front of the church with the gun......and you make up a story and talk out of your ass.......wow.....
"He saw me and I saw him. I was standing behind the pickup truck for cover," Willeford told KHBS. "It was surreal to me that it could be happening. I could not believe it."

The guy with a gun is not what made him leave. Why would you walk right into another guy with a gun if you knew he was there? You wouldn't. Your good guy saw him only after he was headed on his way.

The killer saw the guy from inside the church....the witness, who was about to be murdered stated that is what happened...since you weren't there...I'll listen to the woman whose life was saved by the AR-15 civilian rifle in the hands of the plumber....

No, she doesn't know what she is talking about. The gunman was outside by then.

No...moron......the Federal Background check system is supposed to keep them from buying guns...the Federal Government fucked up, moron....not the gun store, they did their fucking job....

Somehow, the gun industry would have still found a way to get a gun to this guy... because they always do.

So he would have went to a second hand buyer or a gun show or some other loophole where they don't check.

But....if they only had that extra special, super duper level of bureaucracy to supervise the clerk who was supposed to press the "send" button....then this would have all worked out...

What we need is a new government agency that supervises all of the clerks in the federal government and makes sure they submit all of their paperwork on time.........

No, they need to do FRESH investigations whenever someone wants to get a gun.

The thing was- one more time for you gun nuts, that within 24 hours of the shooting we found out.

1) He was given a bad conduct discharge for beating his wife and kid
2) He escaped from an insane asylum
3) He had been in a dispute with his in-laws.
4) He was under suspision for sneaking a weapon onto his base.

You know, because they actually CHECKED HIS BACKGROUND.

Wow. Background checks. What a crazy idea!!!!

No...moron...since you are really, really, fucking slow......the Air Force clerk did not put his paperwork into the FBI NICS system...so he passed his background check....the background check system you assholes say will keep us safe.....ooops......

The Press simply went to the Air Force and asked them....the gun store went to the NICS system...the system you fucking crybabies wanted to stop guys like him from getting a gun....they went to that system and it failed them.....moron.

You're pretty fucking slow yourself dude. Yeah, the AF failed to enter him into the database, but his discharge wasn't the only disqualifying factor. He also had several arrests for domestic abuse. When you are booked into jail, part of the booking process is to enter you into the database along with why you were arrested.

You can't blame all of this on the AF. Part of the blame, yes, but it also has to be shared by the police who arrested him. Why didn't the police put him in the database for domestic abuse?

Yep......the local police screwed up too.....and because both the Federal and local government fucked up...it fell to a civilian with an AR-15 civilian rifle to save 26 people in that church...since the local police couldn't get there till after the killer left the scene of the attack...

Thanks for pointing that out....

this is a weapon of war...in service till 1963 in some countries.....actually used on the battlefield...the AR-15 was never on a battlefield...ever...

Webley Revolver - Wikipedia

The Webley Revolver (also known as the Webley Top-Break Revolver or Webley Self-Extracting Revolver ) was, in various marks, a standard issue service pistol for the armed forces of the United Kingdom, and the British Empire and Commonwealth, from 1887 until 1963.

----

The Webley is a top-break revolver and breaking the revolver operates the extractor, which removes cartridges from the cylinder.

The Webley Mk I service revolver was adopted in 1887 and the Mk IV, rose to prominence during the Boer War of 1899–1902. The Mk VI, introduced in 1915 during the First World War, is perhaps the best-known model.

Care to list many of the weapons of war you are not allowed to own?

No....according to the 2nd Amendment we get to own weapons of war that are bearable arms.....sorry asswipe......the Supreme Court already ruled on this....
That is obviously not true. And the Supreme Court has never said that. It says you have the right, but limited, to firearms and a limited set of other arms. Not just anything the government has.

*Kelley leaves the church. Moments later a church neighbor, Stephen Willeford, who lives a block away, is alerted by his daughter to the shooting. Willeford, who was barefoot, grabbed his assault rifle.

*Several other Holcombe relatives, who were running late to the service, arrived to the church as the gunman fled.

*The two men exchange gunfire. Willeford stands behind a pickup truck for cover.

*Kelley is hit twice – in a leg and the torso – and drops his assault rifle. He manages to drive away in his pearl-colored SUV and fires off more rounds from another gun through the open driver's side window.'

He was outside, not inside. And the gun saved no one but it did kill 27.

Wrong....

--------------

Reading the Second Amendment as protecting only the right to “keep and bear Arms” in an organized militia therefore fits poorly with the operative clause’s description of the holder of that right as “the people.” We start therefore with a strong presumption that the Second Amendment right is exercised individually and belongs to all Americans.

--------

Some have made the argument, bordering on the frivolous, that only those arms in existence in the 18th century are protected by the Second Amendment.

We do not interpret constitutional rights that way. Just as the First Amendment protects modern forms of communications, e.g., Reno v. American Civil Liberties Union, 521 U. S. 844, 849 (1997), and the Fourth Amendment applies to modern forms of search, e.g., Kyllo v. United States, 533 U. S. 27, 35–36 (2001), the Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding.

--------

http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/07pdf/07-290.pdf

(c) The Court’s interpretation is confirmed by analogous armsbearing rights in state constitutions that preceded and immediately followed the Second Amendment. Pp. 28–30. (d) The Second Amendment’s drafting history, while of dubious interpretive worth, reveals three state Second Amendment proposals that unequivocally referred to an individual right to bear arms. Pp. 30–32. (e) Interpretation of the Second Amendment by scholars, courts and legislators, from immediately after its ratification through the late 19th century also supports the Court’s conclusion. Pp. 32–47. (f) None of the Court’s precedents forecloses the Court’s interpretation. Neither United States v. Cruikshank, 92 U. S. 542, 553, nor Presser v. Illinois, 116 U. S. 252, 264–265, refutes the individualrights interpretation. United States v. Miller, 307 U. S. 174, does not limit the right to keep and bear arms to militia purposes, but rather limits the type of weapon to which the right applies to those used by the militia, i.e., those in common use for lawful purposes. Pp. 47–54. 2.

-------------

3. The handgun ban and the trigger-lock requirement (as applied to self-defense) violate the Second Amendment. The District’s total ban on handgun possession in the home amounts to a prohibition on an entire class of “arms” that Americans overwhelmingly choose for the lawful purpose of self-defense.

The good guy with a gun...was not in the military and he wasn't a cop...he was a plumber with an AR-15 rifle...and he ruined the happy dance of the gun grabbers as they skipped through the still warm blood of the victims...

That darned good guy just had to have the AR-15 civilian rifle......which he used to stop the killer, since the police didn't show up till the guy left the scene.......

Um, yeah, shooting at the guy AFTER he offed 26 people isn't really "stopping a bad guy with a gun".

But nice try, though.

Of course he stopped him. Stopped him from killing more people and from maybe driving to another church. Don't let your opinion on guns make you completely blind of reality.
