What, in your opinion, is the greatest sport in the world, past or present?

I'll start: Wrestling

Original Olympic boxing.

no rounds and the winner was the last man standing.

if the fights went on for to long, the fighters were directed to exchange punches one at a time.

In one such event, a fighter after taking a punch, shoved his fingers into the others guts, pulled out his intestine, killing him. He lost the match, b/c the judges ruled he struck his opponent 5 times.

Yeeeaaaaah....gonna file that one under "unlikely to be true."

The Gladiator events in the Colisseum, however unethical they may have been

Why those?
Battles to the death, exotic wild animals vs. Gladiators and prisoners and each other; what a spectacle that must have been.

Does that really constitute a sport?
2 Gladiators vs. a Grizzly Bear. I'd pay $50 to see that.

Would you pay to witness a public hanging in NK?

Completely different

Not completely.

You'd be in shock about ten seconds into the fight. People in ancient times were much, much harder than their modern counterparts.

Very unlikely to be true.

Baseball - by far.

I do have an American perspective on it but it's not like other countries don't play also ...

I personally like TENNIS best.

You are out there on your own. (unless you play doubles)
No coaches to talk to, no caddy, etc. But, it's certainly not the most popular.
