It is in english. LOVE that movie. Thanks for the reminder cuz I don't have it in DVD but now I plan to go to ebay and get one. Had it in VHS but I got rid of all of them. I gotta get this one back.

No, but I have read the book. After reading the book, I had no interest in seeing the film.

It is not a foreign film. The novel was written by a Chinese American, in English. One of the themes is about being a modern American within an immigrant environment, of learning the stories of those who grew up in and left China.

I didn't either. So I did both, after I got back home.

My experience is just the opposite. The books are almost always better than the movie.
