Current Colorado law, as dictated by years of Koch-inspired dominance of that stateā€™s senate, requires state regulators to encourage continued gas and oil development in the state. But consideration of human health concerns (such as the impact of gas drilling on drinking water), are deliberately restricted to what is ā€œfeasible and cost-effective.ā€ These are weasel words that the oil and gas industries use to thwart any regulation of their industry that interferes with their profits. The new legislation, as explained by Colorado House Speaker K.C. Becker, reverses the mission of the regulators and orders them to consider first and foremost public health and safety.

I'm sorry, how much trash and filth and sewage spews out of your Dem run cities daily in Colorado? Now that is a public health and safety concern.

Makes good sense to me.

Interestingly, a news story highlights the car dealer association in Colorado pushing back against the state instituting California pollution standards on cars in Colorado, saying it will add $2000 to the cost of a car and is an example of the govt trying to mandate what you buy. 75 percent of vehicles in Colorado are trucks, 4 wheel drive, and, and suvs. Every time you think progressives canā€™t possibly hurt their election chances in 2020, they one up themselves. How does the saying go, give them enough rope to hang themselves. We may run out of rope.
