All those economics essays Noah Smith writes promoting open-borders are just a ruse, concealing why Noah wants open-borders: so he can achieve his childhood revenge over a certain race and class of people from his hometown.

It’s because they are jealous of white people. They want White Privilege for themselves, but want to pretend they created it. To do that they need to eliminate whites and rewrite history to claim they created Modern Civilization.

Leftists believe that ultimately, after another election cycle or two, every bastard in this country illegally will be converted to a naturalized, Democrat-voting citizen. This is also why they tenaciously demand that "illegals" get as many gubmint benefits as possible...free schools, free housing, free medical care, free college.

And when you look at the numbers, it all makes sense.
