Yes, emotion displacing the rule of law is dangerous.
I feel for the victims of illegal immigrants, but I'm not going to sit here and let my anger at that erase my sense of justice either. In this country, my kind sir, emotions do not make a substitute for the rule of law, not in any circumstance.
Think of it this way. If you had a daughter who was being raped by a man. Another happens to walk up on him and beats shit out of the rapist, you then walk up on them and in a fit of blind rage assuming they both raped her, kill them both, only to realise one of the men was acting in defense of your daughter.
That's what happens when you let your emotions take place of your logic.
