The Republican Party has a communicable disease

The Republican Party has a communicable disease. It has been intimate for so long with President Trump that it acts pretty much as he does. He lies and then Republicans lie about his lies — they don’t matter, just noise, the wall is more important, etc. These evasions are intended to suggest that moral squalor can be cleansed by a jump in the Dow Jones or a handshake with Kim Jong Un. The months of Trump have taken a toll. The GOP has been stripped of its dignity and honor by a president who has neither.

Everytime a liberal talks about dignity, honor or legislative successes, I just have to laugh...:itsok:

The reality is, like it or not; bury your head in the sand or watch stupefied, history will remember President Donald Trump in a light similar to U.S. Grant, and possibly, compare him to Lincoln and find him Lincoln's equal or better. With unabashed honesty, I must admit a prevailing lack of comprehension—on every strata of my sentient existence—of the contemporary American Left's habitual tendency for claiming the higher moral ground while standing firmly on the skull mountain of historical revolutionary Leftism. And as if that weren't enough; to stand on the bones of tens and hundreds of millions of victims of their worshipped ideologies, the radical Left doubles down willingly on their cultural revolution politics, a social and political movement aligned with Atheism and based on moral nihilism and moral relativism; anti-Americanism, and aims for no less a goal than the collapse of Western Civilization, as we know it and live in it.

And yet, punditry like Cohen's has the anti-intellectual, anti-moral fact acrimony and shamelessness to accuse our President and his tens of millions of largely Christian and fiercely patriotic voters, of sinking beneath the Leftism religion of moral nihilism and anti-fact, deep into some kind of amoral quicksand quagmire. Ye who believe such as this, like Cohen, lack basic understanding of moral fact. The ideologies of radical, revolutionary Leftism are synonymous with artificially created moral entropy.

The American Left worships a religion of atheistic mass murder; yet somehow the Democratic Party paints itself as mounted atop some moral high-horse, in comparison to our President. In other words, the American Left: radical and moderate (who support the radical by voting for them), lies hypocrisy and anti-Americanism through its gleet stained teeth. And somehow, millions of idiots blind to history; social, cultural, political and military—swallow its lethal disease—hook, line, split shot and bobber.
Comparing Trump with Lincoln is absurd. Never could two men be any more different. About the only thing the two have in common is both are Republicans although Trump has to be reminded of that quite often.

I disagree. One could compare the formation of political engines to propel and energize slavery during the lead up to the American Civil War, to the same political machinations amalgamated and fueled up in the beginning of the 20th century American cultural revolution, as parallels between Lincoln's eventual confrontation with slavery's abolishment, and President Trump's coming confrontation with the revolutionary American radical Left. The foremost difference being: the cultural revolutionaries pose a much greater threat to America's long term survival.

I agree, Trump and his supporters are bringing down the Republican party and putting a stain on every Republican that went before them.
The biggest difference between Trump and supporters and the past Republicans is morality. There has never been a President and supporters so void of morality in US history as Trump and gang; VERY DISGUSTING HUMAN BEINGS!

The democrats are learning. Trump isn't their problem. It's those who voted for him. It's the entire concept of voting. Let the people decide and they may just do it wrong.

Yes you could make that comparison but it would be an apples and oranges comparison.

The fact is, no two president could be any more different than Trump and Lincoln. Whereas Lincoln was honest and eloquent, Trump is inarticulate and and consistently creates his own version of the truth.

The two men differ widely in terms of social background, education, political experience, policy positions, and in almost every other way. Trump holds to vague, inconsistent, and sometimes contradictory policy positions, even after his election; Lincoln was remarkably steadfast in his opposition to the expansion of slavery and his adherence to Whig economic principles and platforms over the course of his political career.

Nowhere is this difference more striking than in the campaign style employed by the two men. Trump regularly engages in the art of political insult with his critics and political opponents. He questioned Senator John McCain’s status as a “war hero” because he had been captured and spent five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. He castigated Megyn Kelly of Fox News as a “bimbo” for quizzing him about his verbal characterizations of women. He attacked fellow candidates Carly Fiorina for her “looks” and Jeb Bush for his supposed “low energy.” Unlike Trump, the mature Lincoln avoided political insults. He learned from an early episode in which he engaged in verbal skewering of a political opponent. In the so-called “skinning” of Jesse Thomas during his 1840 campaign for the Illinois legislature, Lincoln mimicked Thomas so effectively on the stump that Thomas broke down in tears. Lincoln subsequently apologized to Thomas and admitted that his behavior “filled him with the deepest chagrin.” He refrained from such conduct after that.

How Is Donald Trump Like Lincoln?

You helped elect the king of the Arkansas mafia, and almost elected his moll to finish ripping off the American people. Your morality is questionable.

How Is Donald Trump Like Lincoln?
He is taking on a left wing establishment that uses/sees minorities as nothing more than a vehicle to further their own ends.
Minorities are the white liberals shield/gravy train, they will go to war [send minorities into the streets to do their fighting of course] to keep it that way
No similarity at all. In fact, Lincoln believed the country should be moving away from authoritarianism which Trump embraces. In Lincoln's first inaugural address, Lincoln speaks of the constitutional protections for minorities and if such protections were ignored, it would be reason for revolution. Clearly it Lincoln was alive today, he would be democrat.
