The best insight into the liberal/socialist mindset, might well be gained from the script writers of Hollywood and TV. As poll after poll has indicated, these people are overwhelming liberal/socialist. The series "The Walking Dead" is an excellent example, but it is not alone. "Lost" is just as lacking in common sense, and the same lack of common sense prevails throughout modern scripts.

These stories are ample proof that liberal/scoialists would be unlikely to survive any broad disaster without a sufficient number of conservatives around to carry them through. There are no conservatives in "The Walking Dead", and consequently, the players are slowly but surely wiped out.

The conservatives are probably over the hill, living fairly secure lives, and rebuilding a viable society. Not much drama there.

In the first episode of "Lost", the survivors are more concerned that a man has a gun, then they are about the monsters in the jungle around them. They make little effort to protect themselves from the unknown monsters, little effort to find food or water, or even create shelters from the elements. Once again, it is obvious that most will not survive for long.

The thinking is that the unknown monsters, much like terrorists, will be their friends after they sit and talk to them. They are waiting for government to drop ship food and supplies. They are waiting for FEMA to provide shelter. That leaves a person with a gun, who clearly disagrees with the liberal stance on gun control, and they would not approve if that person were to kill any of the monsters if they attack. They would blame the gunman for being arrogant and causing the monsters to attack in the first place.

I wish this was more then just a conservative group jerk off...cause I really like the walking dead :-(

Your premise may have merit but it seems to me that Hershel was solidly conservative.

I imagine Dale and Andrea voted for Obama but the rest of them seem kind of neutral.

Actually, it is. The OP just doesn't know it.

The characters prove what most adults already know - that there is strength in numbers. There is also wisdom in government that works FOR the betterment of the people which is, of course, the opposite of the rw desire of huge government that controls our every move.

There are conservatives and liberals in the story, as well as gays, whites, women, blacks, Asians, good guys and bad guys. The smart ones work together for their own common good. That's just as true for the "bad guys" as for our heroes.

In my opinion, it is a parable for our time.

As for this -

These stories are ample proof that liberal/scoialists would be unlikely to survive any broad disaster without a sufficient number of conservatives around to carry them through.

That's a pretty dumb thing to say because human beings have indeed survived because we work together. (Unless, of course, the OP maintains his own highways, schools etc, or can name even one successful society where individuals do not work together in a group for the common good. I won't be holding my breath for that ... )

As to the fictional tv show, extinction is written into the plot and has nothing at all to do with being conservative or liberal.

I see Rick leaning more conservative too, he is a Georgia cop afterall.

You don't even have a clue. People survive on their own, or in groups, because they have common sense. Without common sense the individual or the group is destined for extinction.

A ragtag group of conservatives, arriving at an army base in an old RV, a car and a pickup truck, would have left with weapons, 5 ton, 6 wheel drive trucks, a lot of weapons and ammo, and a truck load of MREs. More than likely, they would have also taken a tanker truck full of fuel for the trucks.

A conservative trapped in an army tank would have attempted to start the tank and drive out of the area. A conservative handcuffed to a bolt, and with a hacksaw in hand, would have sawed through the rusty old bolt, and not cut his hand off. Conservatives would not take leisurely walks through woods filled with zombies, or run off other survivors because they might be a danger to the current group.

The scripts are written that way because the writers see it that way. Liberal/socialist logic.

Yes, I got that. But, you failed to grasp that the post is about liberal/socialist script writers, and how they see things. They see things that way because they can't see things any other way. None of them would survive in the scenerios they write about, because they lack common sense.

Reminds me of the old joke about the liberal/socialist who experienced a flat tire and pulled over near an insane asylum. As he got the spare and jack out of the trunk, he noticed a rough looking inmate watching him from the other side of the fence. Since there was a deep ditch, full of water between him and the immate, he figured he was safe, and proceded to change the tire. As he was putting the spare on the axle, he kicked the hubcap into the ditch, and realized that his lug nuts were in the hubcap

After throwing the lug wrench and cussing a lot, he leaned on the car and contemplated how far he had to walk to get help. Then, a voice from the other side of the fence said; "Why don't you take one lug nut off of each of the other three wheels, mount your spare with those three lug nuts and drive to a service station?"

The liberal/socialist exclaimed! "What a great idea. Obviously, you don't belong in there."

"Oh, I belong here." Replied the immate. "I am crazy, but I am not stupid."
