Thief steals over 340 guns, only gets 10 years...should get 30.

This guy led a crew of criminals who broke into gun stores and stole guns...supplying them to criminals...and he only received 10 years for his crime.....this is why we have gun crime......he should have been put in prison for 30 years......

The ringleader of a crew that stole 340 firearms from gun stores around the southeast has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In addition to the 14 stores Coffey successfully burglarized, he also attempted to break into six other stores and burglarized some stores multiple times. Coffey planned each of the break-ins and would use different methods of entry to the shops, including throwing rocks and welding torches that would burn through door locks.

Some of the stolen guns were used in shootings and other crimes and have been recovered by law enforcement officers as far away as Chicago and Washington, D.C. Some of the firearms have yet to be recovered.

Back in May, Coffey pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to steal firearms from licensed gun dealers, theft of firearms from licensed gun dealers, and possession and sale of stolen firearms. In addition to the 10 years on prison, he will also have to serve three years of supervised release and has been ordered to pay $51,128.89 in restitution.

Too bad we don't have a federal universal background check law. That would have stopped those stolen firearms from getting into hands of criminals.

Of course....I am sure that after he stole the guns, when he was selling them out of his motel room to other criminals, felons who can't buy, own or carry guns....that he did a full background check on the gang members ......

Of course.....the funny thing is.....the anti gunners also want gun registration...but according to Haynes v. United States Supreme Court ruling, these felons do not have to register the stolen guns they bought from this guy....since it violates their right against self incrimination....you can't make this stuff up...
