Deir Ezzor, SANA- Forces of the US-led “international coalition” have targeted popular forces that were fighting Daesh (ISIS) terrorists and Qasad groups in Deir Ezzor countryside in an attempt to support terrorism.

SANA’s reporter in Deir Ezzor said that forces of the US-led coalition on Wednesday midnight attacked popular forces that were fighting Daesh terrorist organization and Qasad groups between the villages of Khsham and al-Tabyia in Deir Ezzor northeastern countryside, leaving scores of persons killed and others injured.

The reporter added that the US-led coalition targeted the popular forces’ positions with ten strikes causing heavy material damage.

The headline is misleading. Attacking mercenaries from anywhere is not equivalent to attacking the Russian military....as the title clearly tries to imply.

Not necessarily. If this were true it would come down to a few factors. I admit I didn't read the article but just speaking in generalities.

First, did America know they were Russians and/or did they intentionally target them without fair warning?

Second, if in fact America did this, the discussions would be had behind the scene So as to not lose face publicly and cause both nations to increase their military readiness between each other.

Third, you can bet that Russians have probably accidentally (or feigned an accident) hit U.S or allied serviceman in the past and noone is the wiser, refer to point two I suppose.

Of course there is the possibility that it didn't happen at all, or there were circumstances around it that wash U.S hands of culpability. Such as, these soldiers being undercover as Iranian etc.

It was always in the North Koreans court and they showed that they care little for human life by pursuing a nuke even though there was absolutely no need to. They have China as their Big Brother and the world was happy to accept two Koreas living side by side without major incident.

Would you rather N Korea have nukes and then when he decides to go off the rails, you have to deal with it?

It was a untenable situation from the beginning but Kims father was able to live out his life without being taken out, he knew it was suicide to pursue nukes.
