This is an election to fill Aaron Schock's seat, after he resigned.
Illinois 2015 General Election
The two on the ballot are:
Rob Mellon (D)
Darin LaHood (R)
The name LaHood is probably familiar to people who know Illinois' politics. We are talking about a dynastic family, here. Darin LaHood has also put much more money into this race for this district, which looks like this:
Ahhh, the joys of gerrymandering...
According to the current Cook PVI rating system, IL-18 is an R +11 district, so LaHood should have an easy win tonight. Aaron Schock won here both in 2012 and in 2014 with about 74% of the vote, in an absolute non-competitive blowout. But it was not always that way in this CD, or rather, the counties that now make up this CD.
Here is some more information:

Were LaHood to not win tonight would be a be shock for the GOP. I suspect that he will easily win, he brought in 113 TIMES more money than his Democratic opponent.
Once the results are certified I will report them. I suspect this race will be over with fairly early.
