Each year the Mercatus Center at George Washington University ranks each of the 50 states for fiscal responsibility. They base each ranking on cash solvency, budget solvency, long-run solvency, service-level solvency, and trust-fund solvency. The top 10 fiscally responsible states for 2017 were all states with Republican-controlled legislatures: Florida, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Idaho, and Montana.

Out of the top 25 fiscally responsible states, only two have Democrat-controlled legislatures: they are Nevada (#14) and Oregon (#21). Minnesota (#24) has a split legislature (Dems narrowly control the Senate; Repubs solidly control the House) and a Democratic governor. So 22 of the top 25 fiscally responsible states are states with Republican-controlled legislatures.

If you want fiscal responsibility, individual liberty and the American Dream, not all states are created equal.

Ahh... I’ll consider him confused. :)

Progressives are going to ignore this thread like the plague. Progressives don't recognize the terms Personal Responsibility or Fiscally Responsible.

Clearly in reference to the fact some states operate quite differently than others. I've not hidden my belief Texas is the greatest state in your union, though I admit, it's quite sad what's happened to California, for all the shots they take from so many, they know how to innovate and drive capitalism. They've simply allowed too many to fleece the taxpayer.

Here's the thing. The Democrats are the "pro-government" party and the Republicans are the "anti-government" party. But when it comes down to it, Republicans are more competent at the nuts and bolts of making government work. It's pretty ironic if you think about it.

I just saw a Canadian resident on Tucker complaint that illegals seeking asylum did not come to Canadian ports of entry either, they just waltzed across Canada’s border! Treaudu is putting them up in hotels!

What are your thoughts about Trudeau? Do you see him as being weak?

Ohhh a top 10 list of big empty states that have shit schools, rely on feds, and have like no gov services.

I see him as not going far enough to reign in the abusive RCMP. They and their surrogates, engage in tactics one only sees in nations of the former Eastern Bloc. He tried to change the culture in the wrong way, he should have gone as far, if not further than Conservative leader Brian Mulroney.

Our police agencies have decimated our reputation while pissing on our closest allies in the most anti-capitalist manner. As I said in other posts, it's clear many Americans are slowly understanding this. Just consider how quickly the EU was willing to work with Trump and he U.S to break down barriers and be fair (this has been vastly underplayed in Canada by the way, Canada KNOWS our lack of progress calls out the Fiefdom, lead by the covert apparatus), why not, nice little "close ally" Canada?

Think about it a little, don't buy the B.S some sell, they are doing it for their own benefits. I bet you many agencies in the U.S don't even realize this fact.

States run by democrats who think the federal government (tax payers) should/will bail them out of any trouble they create for themselves?

Those states are the Economic engines of the country and pay all those taxes . It’s easy to be “fiscally responsible” when you are the likes of the Dakotas , Wyoming, Idaho . You have no people or infrastructure. Most of you money comes from natural resources.

We could all be fiscally responsible if we live in a shack .

You’ll be living in a shack if democrats have their way.

It’s amazing how you people can ignore what democrats are doing.

Yup, that must be why many of those "economic engines" are now trying to sue the Feds.....dumbass.

In a shack? That would be a step up from the tents in California.
