After the Chicago Police Chief released the file on Smollett there is not 1 person on the planet who does not know he committed the fake hate crime - whether they will admit it or not is something different.

Funny how snowflakes are targeting BARR (their favorite person to hate today after releasing the fact that Mueller's Report stated NO EVIDENCE, NO CRIME, NO COLLUSION against Trump) had anything to do with out of the blue the Chicago DA dropping more than a dozen Felony charges against Smollett and sealing all of his records or still suggesting that while Barr is lying about what Mueller's final report says Mueller and his 19 lawyers are sitting back silently letting him do so...

First of all, Smollett was never charged with faking a hate crime even though some media sources claim he was. He was indicted on 16 charges of filing a false police report. I posted a copy of the charges some time back, but you didn't read them. Here they are

Second, if you think the case involving Trump is the same as the one involving Smollett, you are one ignorant fool

Donald Trump was investigated by a special prosecutor and a staff of attorneys for almost 2 years. The Mueller report concluded there was no evidence of collusion. In other words, Trump was completely exonerated. Mueller stated he could not determine if Trump had engaged in obstruction because he was not sufficiently familiar with the applicable laws; however, the Attorney General concluded there was no obstruction. In both charges Trump was exonerated. I know that liberals hate to use that word, but by every legal definition, Trump was totally exonerated.

The Smollett case is completely different. The police had amassed a literal mountain of evidence against him and were confident they had a slam-dunk case. They arrested him and using only a fraction of the evidence they had accumulated, a grand jury returned 16 indictments for filing a false police report.

The prosecutor who dismissed the charges made it clear she did not exonerate Smollett, but dismissed the charges as part of a plea agreement done under what she describe as an “alternative prosecution.” The following is from CNN:

“Prosecutors who dropped felony charges against actor Jussie Smollett over his report of a hate crime attack "have fundamentally misled the public on the law and circumstances surrounding the dismissal," an Illinois lawyers group said.

“The way Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx and her office resolved the case also was "abnormal and unfamiliar to those who practice law," wrote the Illinois Prosecutors Bar Association.

"The scathing statement, issued Thursday, follows claims by Foxx and her top deputy, Joe Magats, that "alternative prosecution," like the resolution brokered in Smollett's case, is not uncommon and is available to all defendants, celebrity or not. Smollet, 36, agreed to forfeit $10,000 bail and complete community service in exchange for the dismissal of 16 charges alleging he'd orchestrated a fake racist, anti-gay attack on himself.”

Here's another source that confirms that Smollett was not exonerated:

"In the last two years, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office has referred more than 5,700 cases for alternative prosecution. This is not a new or unusual practice," the office said in a statement. "An alternative disposition does not mean that there were any problems or infirmities with the case or the evidence. We stand behind the Chicago Police Department's investigation and our decision to approve charges in this case. We did not exonerate Mr. Smollett. The charges were dropped in return for Mr. Smollett's agreement to do community service and forfeit his $10,000 bond to the City of Chicago."

“In a later interview, First Assistant State's Attorney Joseph Magats said the decision followed a look at the office's resources, saying "our number one priority is violent crime.

“He added that Smollett was "not a victim of a hate crime" and had already served two days of community service.”

CONCLUSION. Trump was totally exonerated whereas Smollett was indicted, prosecuted and took a plea deal. If you still think both cases are the same I cannot help you. No one can.
