Neither Jordan nor Egypt will take Palestinians short of forcing them through a war. Both have had major problems with them. Hamas is a variant of the Muslim Brotherhood, which Egypt has been fighting for decades. In Jordan, Palestinians attempted to kill the king twice and tried a coup/insurrection.

The Gulf States use them as workers but don't allow them to remain, for similar reasons.

Maybe Russia and China will take them.:auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg:*

*seriously, forced movement of an entire population is a classic definition of a crime against humanity. It would inflame the entire ME against us, right at the time we are leaving the region.

One possibility is for the Arabs to hire big construction firms to build apartment complexes on barren land not bombed.
Then people can move from the rubble to the complexes and the major demolition could happen.
If Hamas kills any workers.....all done.

  • President Donald Trump said the United States "will take over the Gaza Strip," and "we'll own it."
  • Trump said that all Palestinians currently living in Gaza, nearly 2 million people, should leave the territory and be placed in other countries in the Middle East.
  • "Gaza is a hellhole," Trump said at the White House during a joint news conference with Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening said the United States "will take over the Gaza Strip," and "we'll own it."

Trump said that all Palestinians currently living in Gaza, nearly 2 million people, should leave the territory and be placed in other countries in the Middle East. He said the U.S. could then re-develop Gaza, which has been decimated during a war with Israel.

Damn, I don't know how this one will turn out, but many heads are exploding on CNN. I suspect they are having conniption fits on MS-NBC.

Prime real-estate should not be wasted on Palis.....That's a fact!

He plans on turning it into the Riviera of the ME.
Hitler said Germany would own France and Holland, they did for a few years until they didn't.

Global reaction to Trump’s declaration US will ‘take over’ Gaza Strip

President Donald Trump said the United States would take over the Gaza Strip after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere.

Here are some global reactions to the announcement, according to a roundup from Reuters:

Saudi Arabian foreign ministry:

Saudi Arabia rejects any attempts to displace the Palestinians from their land. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has affirmed the kingdom’s position in ‘a clear and explicit manner’ that does not allow for any interpretation under any circumstances.”

UK prime minister, Keir Starmer:

“They [Palestinians] must be allowed home, they must be allowed to rebuild, and we should be with them in that rebuild on the way to a two-state solution.”

German foreign minister, Annalena Baerbock:

Baerbock said the Gaza Strip belongs to Palestinians and their expulsion would be unacceptable and contrary to international law. “It would also lead to new suffering and new hatred … There must be no solution over the heads of the Palestinians.”

French foreign ministry spokeperson, Christophe Lemoine:

France reiterates its opposition to any forced displacement of the Palestinian population of Gaza, which would constitute a serious violation of international law, an attack on the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinians, but also a major obstacle to the two-state solution and a major destabilising factor for our close partners Egypt and Jordan as well as for the entire region.”

Spanish foreign minister, José Manuel Albares:

I want to be very clear on this: Gaza is the land of Gazan Palestinians and they must stay in Gaza. Gaza is part of the future Palestinian state Spain supports and has to coexist guaranteeing the Israeli state’s prosperity and safety.”

Egyptian foreign minister, Badr Abdelatty:

Abdelatty discussed with Palestinian prime minister, Mohammad Mustafa, the importance of moving forward with recovery projects in Gaza without Palestinians leaving the territory.

Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov:

Russia believes a settlement in the Middle East is only possible on the basis of a two-state solution:

This is the thesis that is enshrined in the relevant UN security council resolution, this is the thesis that is shared by the overwhelming majority of countries involved in this problem. We proceed from it, we support it and believe that this is the only possible option.”

Chinese foreign ministry:

China hopes all parties will take ceasefire and post-conflict governance as an opportunity to bring the Palestinian issue back on the right track of political settlement based on the two-state solution.”

Turkish foreign minister, Hakan Fidan:

Trump’s comments on a plan to take over Gaza are “unacceptable”. Any plans leaving Palestinians “out of the equation” would lead to more conflict.

UN human rights office:

It is crucial that we move towards the next phase of the ceasefire, to release all hostages and arbitrarily detained prisoners, end the war and reconstruct Gaza, with full respect for international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
Any forcible transfer in or deportation of people from occupied territory is strictly prohibited.”

Senior Hamas official, Sami Abu Zuhri:

Our people in the Gaza Strip will not allow these plans to pass … What is required is to end the [Israeli] occupation and aggression against our people, not to expel them from their land.”

Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, and the Palestinian leadership:

Abbas said the Palestinians will not relinquish their land, rights and sacred sites, and that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the land of the State of Palestine, along with the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Senior Iranian official:

Iran does not agree with any displacement of Palestinians and has communicated this through various channels.”

Irish foreign minister, Simon Harris:

It’s very clear the direction of travel here: we need a two state solution, and the people of Palestine and the people of Israel both have a right to live in states safely side by side, and that’s where the focus has to be. Any idea of displacing the people of Gaza anywhere else would be in clear contradiction with UN security council resolutions.”

Australian prime minister, Anthony Albanese:

Australia’s position is the same as it was this morning, as it was last year. The Australian government supports on a bipartisan basis a two-state solution.”

Palestine Liberation Organization secretary general, Hussein al-Sheikh:

The Palestinian leadership affirms its firm position that the two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacy and international law, is the guarantee of security, stability and peace.”

Islamic Jihad:

Trump’s positions and plans are a dangerous escalation that threaten Arab and regional national security, especially in Egypt and Jordan, which the US administration wants to put in confrontation with the Palestinian people and their rights.”

Former Israeli minister for national security, Itamar Ben-Gvir:

Ben-Gvir said that “encouraging” Palestinians to migrate from the territory was the only correct strategy at the end of the war in Gaza. He urged Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to adopt that policy “immediately”.

Democratic and Palestinian-American US representative, Rashida Tlaib:

Palestinians aren’t going anywhere. This president can only spew this fanatical bullshit because of bipartisan support in Congress for funding genocide and ethnic cleansing. It’s time for my two-state solution colleagues to speak up.”

This is without parallel, never in all my years and all of the stuff I've read about international affairs and geopolitics, has the US isolated itself to this huge degree. It is similar to the international isolation that arose to Hitler before WW2.

The US has become a rogue state, it is utterly disrespected, sooner or later the United States will be subjected to collective sanctions, the rest of the world is beginning to recognize that the US cannot be reasoned with, is just a bully, seeks to dominate the entire planet and it will be stopped, I have no doubt, but at what cost to the American people?

The short version is "The other 95% of the world says Fuck off Trump".

Trump clearly never read: How to make friends and influence people. :auiqs.jpg:

There are pros and cons to be considered. If ending the conflict in Gaza is the goal, it is the only proposal on the table will do that. The Palestinians claim all of Israel and are committed to continuing the attacks on Israel until it has been destroyed and they have repeatedly rejected a state in only the territories, so there are no diplomatic solutions to ending the conflict, and the alternative to President Trump's plan is endless war.

There seem to be three arguments against the plan:

1. It is impossible because no one will take them.

2. The Arabs/Muslims will be angry.

3. It would be a crime against humanity.

1. The US has enormous leverage not only with Egypt and Jordan because of economic and military aid and implied security assistance if they are attacked, but also with many other nations with substantial Muslim populations, so if the US is determined to end the conflict by facilitating Palestinian emigration from Gaza it will find places for them to go.

2. The Arabs/Muslims have been angry about the existence of Jews since the 7th century and more recently about the existence of Israel since 1948 and that is not likely to change regardless of what President Trump does about Gaza.

3. President Trump said nothing about a "forced transfer" of the Palestinian population, and there would be no need for it. Before the war, fully a third of the population of Gaza wanted to leave and now when the war resumes that number will increase radically, or if the ceasefire holds but Gaza is not rebuilt, the number of people who want to leave will also increase. No one has ever facilitated the emigration of Palestinians from Gaza, so if the US/Israel were to incentivize and facilitate emigration to other countries from worn torn devastated Gaza, Gaza would become depopulated. No forced transfer, no war crime.

The speaker did not mention that the Saudis and Qataris just said that there is no money unless there is a New Palestine somewhere, which won't happen. Without the Saudis and Qataris there is no money for Trump's Gaza Paradise.
Not true. As both President Trump and his son in law have pointed out Gaza is prime real estate for development and private investors will be eager to purchase or lease land for development.

No thats not the arguments against the plan.

1. Its a war crime.
2. It will cause massive US casualties and stick our people in hell for decades.
3. Yes the entire ME will be angry. We might get an oil embargo again.
4. Neither Egypt nor Jordan will take them. Turkey, the Gulf States, and the EU will not take them.

Thats not going to help the US taxpayer.
