anyway, I a photo of saw Trump next to a woman in wheelchair. At the cemetery. We know how he feels about the disabled in photos. Must all be purely for the photo op. We know from Maggie Haberman (Trump's therapist LOL), that

Trump Has a Real Problem With Wounded Vets

U.S. Army Issues Statement Criticizing Trump Campaign Over Cemetery Dispute

The statement said Trump’s staff “unfairly attacked” an Arlington National Cemetery employee.

Here’s the latest on the presidential race.

The Army on Thursday criticized the conduct of members of former President Donald J. Trump’s campaign in a statement about a confrontation at Arlington National Cemetery this week, in which campaign staff clashed with a cemetery employee who was trying to enforce a prohibition on political activity.

Participants in the Trump campaign’s wreath-laying ceremony on Monday “were made aware” of that prohibition, but “an A.N.C. employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside,” the statement said. “Consistent with the decorum expected at A.N.C., this employee acted with professionalism and avoided further disruption.”

It added, “This incident was unfortunate, and it is also unfortunate that the A.N.C. employee and her professionalism has been unfairly attacked.” A Trump spokesman had disparaged the employee and claimed she was “clearly suffering from a mental health episode.”

At Arlington, Trump Returns to the Politics of the ‘Forever Wars’

The 2024 presidential race is the first in 24 years without a major American ground war, but Donald J. Trump continues to stoke division over the post-9/11 conflicts that helped give rise to his movement.

Arlington confrontation isn’t Trump’s first military cemetery controversy

US Army rebukes Trump campaign for incident at Arlington National Cemetery

Donald Trump’s campaign is co-managed by the man who engineered the “swift boating” of John Kerry in 2004, so it should come as no surprise that 20 years later, military service and treatment of veterans are turning into uncomfortable political issues.

Trump pivoted from a visit to Arlington National Cemetery earlier this week to an attack on President Joe Biden’s Afghanistan policy – a turn that apparently followed a dustup with an official at the cemetery over the campaign’s attempt to use cameras in Section 60, an area where American troops who were killed in recent wars are buried. The story was first reported by NPR, but Trump’s campaign, the cemetery and the US Army have since issued statements.

“Participants in the August 26th ceremony and the subsequent Section 60 visit were made aware of federal laws, Army regulations and DoD policies, which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds. An ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside,” the Army spokesperson said in the statement on Thursday. Section 60 is an area in the cemetery largely reserved for the graves of those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Trump needs to provide an explanation. He's expressing his feelings on John McCain being a war hero again, but on different heroes.

I think his opinion has to do with not being a dead hero or one full of bullets.

His base can at the least understand that to be legitimate, albeit a crass and thoughtless way of expressing himself.

I think people are interested in why Trump is so disrespectful to vets.

This is probably why you are spending so much energy to talk about anything else except the thread topic.
Disrespecting veterans is a poorly planned outcome that led to their deaths (and many other egregious outcomes). Trump took photos and videos .. awesome. Trump showed up .. awesome. How about the other candidate's decisions that led to Trump attending?

Trump violated the law and was disrespectful to veterans in doing so.

Why is he so disrespectful to vets.
