This seems relevant to us in light of the radical policy changes proposed by our Democrat Socialist 2020 candidates. Much of what Finland is facing is in our very near future:

Finnish government announces resignation
Finland's entire government has resigned over its failure to achieve a key policy goal on social welfare and healthcare reform...
Finland's extensive welfare systems are under financial pressure as the nation's population ages, yet reform plans remain politically controversial.

Once a populace has been given gov't "freebies" it is very difficult to take 'em away but as all rational adults know, there is no such thing as free. Creeping socialism has been the left's M.O. for DECADES.

Bbbut the left loons said Scandinavian socialism was working....this time.

Yet another "we told you so" moment

Why is it then, that Finland has a debt, per person, of $24,000, with a yearly increase of the debt of 1.5%, and the USA has a debt, per person, of $50,000, with a yearly increase of 9.9%.

It appears to me that Finland is doing a better job managing their finances than the USA.

Finland is doing fine. The right keeps parroting this story as if it’s some kind if catastrophe.

And you think bigger, greasier, more corrupt central gov't with lots more "freebies" is the solution to our national debt? :laughing0301:

Well the entire Government resigned.

Maybe the bean counters are running the country. Who knows.

The resigning gov't is staying but only as "caretakers" ... whatever that means. Elections are scheduled in a few weeks.
