There is no doubt that the success of Ukraine in the counteroffensive is precisely due to the fact that they began to fight professionally, competently, using special operations tactics. They make a lot of raids and destroy the rear.

Before that, it was a stupid positional war without maneuvers, where a huge number of people died.

The rebels of the Freedom Legion and the Belorussian regiment of Kalinovsky act in a similar way.

Who taught them to fight professionally?

It could be Poland or the USA.

Last I checked the Ukraine was severely criticized because the offensive is not successful. They are urged to get back to Nato tactics but these didn´t proof useful for Ukraine. Ukraine has high casualties and is just starting a new round of drafts as per demand of the military.
The current strategy of the UAF is small commando-like operations.

As I commented in another current thread , you are clueless .Even Kyiv has effectively admitted what we all knew from the outset --- that the so called June 4 counter offensive would be, and has been, a complete disaster. As we speak, the Good Guys are already on the offensive in the north ( Karkhov) and the Kyiv Nazis have not yet broken a defence line and but lost up to 60 000 . For nothing but vanity and stupidity .

Bullshit. They now pass more in a week than before in a year.

What is the NATO tactics?

all this is ridiculous. The offensive is so successful that no one could even expect this. Fortifications are already being built in the Russian Federation, and the southern half of the Russian army and Crimea are almost surrounded.

Evacuation in Tokmak. After the surrender of the Tokmak, the southern Army of the Russian Federation will be in complete operational encirclement.

Yes, and this is exactly what they need against a large clumsy army on a wide front, in order not to lose people and be effective.

This is John Rambo style. Tactics of the highest professionalism.

Fucking delusional...

Rambo is BS. Nato tactics can only apply when the war material is in accord with them. The Ukrainian equipment is not. There is a lack of heavy weapons, navy and air force. So it doesn´t make sense.
The current strategy is also not suitable. They can deliver some pinholes but this is not sufficient to reach the goals of the offensive. In the end it is what they can do and many people, including me, said months before this offensive that it does not make sense militarily.
Reality should be the basis of military actions: Wasting the bargaining chip in a pointless offensive can end fatal for Ukraine.

This.

The west is trying to get the Ukes to fight a modern combined arms conflict, with neither the equipment nor the training to fight as such.

This professional shit sure has paid off. Yep.View attachment 821165

This is nowhere near showing all the territory UAF has taken back since the Spring offensive. Orihkiv was Russian controlled and Zaporhihza was about to fall from Russian advances.

Sure Bakhmut fell...but the UAF is making them pay for it again and again by surrounding the city. They already have the high ground back and are shooting with fire control into the city.

This is asymmetrical warfare....they can't afford to fight like NATO would....nowhere near the number of troops and coordination necessary when they haven't had the air forces necessary to even train to coordinate an attack. And NATO is defensive instead of offensive tactics and warfare. Where SOME things are similar they aren't the same. And they need to continue to develop their own offensive tactics instead of relying upon NATO training for defending themselves. Russia is stationary already...not going on the offensive. So NATO tactics are way too late to be employed.

Tokmak is surrounded by trenches. It would make more sense to just encircle it and starve them out.

Actually, they are bit offensive on the Kupyansk direction. Few villages, not really much, yet, but it can be changed at any moment. What is even more interesting - is Zapad-2023 drills. The Poles already became nervous.

Russia does not stand, it has been retreating VERY FAST in all directions for about three weeks now, on the southern front they have broken through the first echelon. Problems with the supply of the southern group is growing like a snowball.

Ukrainians in the shortest time passed from the Urozhaynoye to Tokmak. They are now 10 km from Tokmok and are building an operational encirclement. There are no more than 100 km left to Mariupol and Melitopol, now they can be freely attacked from Hymers. All land transport hubs can be broken now. The southern group is de facto already in operational encirclement.

I think it is anybody's call which side will prevail in this expensive and excessive deadly and totally unnecessary war. But I think this Washington Examiner piece posted 5 days ago probably is the closest thing to an accurate analysis we are going to be able to find.

The great debate: Ukraine is winning, no it’s not, yes it is
Bottom line: It's anybody's guess which side will ultimately prevail.
