Victoria Secret Perfect Body Ads and American Fascism

Liberals are victims of life. It's always somebody else's fault because they are simply products of their environment. That's why they want mommy government looking out for them.
It applies to ANYONE who wants to manipulate government in order to get what they want.

.

Since you hate the female models, is this a clear indication you are ghey?

This is not a "Politics" topic. It's cultural. Doesn't have jack shit to do with "liberalism", "conservatism" or "religions".
The op made the connection, quite nicely I might add.

....that media messages such as these perpetuate low self-esteem among women and girls who are made to feel inadequate.....

So if they're basically destroying their bodies by eating too much, should they have self esteem about this? There are plenty of things that can destroy your self esteem on a daily basis. If you can't cope with advertising, then you need help.

True enough, the biggest sin for a liberal is someone who makes them feel bad about themselves. That is why they are so anti-religion.

No, I'm anti-religion because I don't need someone to tell me what to do, I don't need to believe things to make myself happy. I have my own brain.

However religion for other people, fine, as long as it doesn't get in my face.
You are a leftist from all the posts I've read of yours. This makes your statement about having your own brain incorrect. All I ever see from you is information that OTHERS have gleaned for THEIR agendas, which you gladly regurgitate. You fall for THEIR advertising of an evil GOP each and every day. So lets quit with the nonsense about you having a brain or being an independent thinker, shall we?

As for Religion telling you what to do? You'd rather have government do that for you. Since government IS your religion, you've made another false statement.

The thread is about the REASON COMMERCIAL advertisement is treated different than POLITICAL announcements.

Good. Go on...

There is nothing political in Victoria's Secret ads. They are selling a product.

Liberals are unbelievably soft minded. They need government control over everything. What they eat, drink, even what they see and hear. Every choice they make needs to be subject to the control of those who know better.

A man recently won a lawsuit against Red Bull over their motto that Red Bull gives you wings. He spent hundreds of dollars on the product and never grew wings. The company had to change the motto. It was false advertising. No one would grow wings no matter how much they drank.

All the education in the world will not cause a single person to give up McDonalds or Pepsi. These companies don't advertise how beneficial they are for good health.

Maybe education won't make people stop eating McDonalds etc. But it gives them the choice to live life in the manner they choose.

I don't care if other people destroy their bodies. It reduces population. However people should have the ability to choose, and that is where education comes in.

I'd say I'm center left. I did that political quiz where about are you on the spectrum thing the other day, just over on the left, down towards Libertarian.

Okay, so you think I don't think for myself and just use what other people have told me. Like what? Give me some examples.

Religion is my govt? Really?

Govt is there to make sure that we have a society that we want. Religion is there for what?

Would I rather have the "the sun revolves around the earth because we don't know any better" or "the earth revolves around the sun because we've actually looked" sort of thing?

I don't particularly like govt, democratic govts are the best of a bad bunch, I think PR is the best of the democratic ways, though not necessarily pure PR.

As for your statement about making a false statement, if that's what you want to believe, then believe it. You're wrong, you don't understand me, that's fine, i can cope with that.

Politics is the mechanism for forwarding your ideology. Liberalism and conservativism aren't politics, they are ideologies, or world views, if you will. There very definitely is a correlation between how one sees themselves in their environment and how they respond to it. Either they are victims of circumstances or they respond to circumstances and determine their own destinies.

....see what I mean Ardie? Here the OP completely firebombs his own topic.
Uh, no....

Ummm, yes.
His political connection was the word "fascism", by which I'm sure he refers to the domination of government by Corporatia. That's a good topic to explore. That's a great one in fact. It could explore a common adversary We the People are all up against.

But then he went full partisan hack with the divisive put-down labels and shot his own potential point in the foot. It's the same game the Puppetmaster plays -- get the People transfixed on how the puppets are dressed in red and blue, fight over that, and forget that they're still puppets.

So your first post was wrong, you now admit. And the op didn't make the partisan hack comments you're now trying to wiggle around. Go back and look, he was playing games with them.

Your ability to always think you're right when facts clearly indicate otherwise is awe inspiring ;)

Uh... no Danth. What I said was that the question of the psychology of advertising is not a political topic. What you then said was that the OP started it out as one. What I then said was that his only potential political angle was one that he abandoned and then completely undermined. Don't try to put words in my posts.

Why would I post something I thought was wrong? Doesn't make sense.

You're wrong...again.

The point isn't you would post what you think isn't correct. It's that when wrong, you try to change the facts and convince yourself you're right. As done in this thread.

Man you guy's logic got left at the toilet this morning....Advertisement motivation and corporate profit for lingerie, have nothing to do with partisan politics in D.C.

Why is that?

Why is advertising for the socialist/fascist brand exempt?

Sorry Danth. Gainsaying isn't argument.
I know you love to argue for its own sake but this ain't it.
