Vinny Appice Calls Rock Hall "A Bunch Of F*Ckin A*Sholes" For Shunning Ronnie James Dio

there are dozens of artist from the 50'60's and 70's who actually contributed something to rock who dont even get nominated, and yet acts like the rappers and hip hoppers who havent contributed anything not only get in but they get nominated....the people on the nomination board are pretty pathetic.....and not very knowledgeable....

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame is a wonderful museum, chock full of memorabilia from not only rock and roll, but from rhythm & blues, country and rap, as well. Nowhere will you ever find a more comprehensive collection of music memorabilia.

It's also absolutely, 100% political when it comes to who gets in and who doesn't. When you consider that a band like Jethro Tull isn't in there, or even Ted Nugent, and people like Grandmaster Flash and Martha & The Vandellas are, it becomes glaringly obvious that there's no rhyme or reason for deciding who gets in and who doesn't.

One year, an unnamed "doo wop" group was dropped in lieu of a rap artist because someone on the committee commented that they couldn't go another year without inducting a rap artist.

Final selections are made by a small committee, and the criteria they use to determine who gets in and who doesn't has never been publicized...

one of the best hard rock bands of all time, Foghat,i dont believe have even been nominated....

#1 - There are much more egregious examples than Ronnie James Dio.
#2 - Ronnie James Dio is dead?

yea he died like 10 years ago
I'm not a metalhead. But he did some nice work on Kerry Livgren's (Kansas) first solo album, Seeds of Change. Livgren is a born-again, which contributed to friction within Kansas, which was already a fairly Christian band to begin with. Using Dio caused a little controversy:

The inclusion of Ronnie James Dio, who was Black Sabbath's lead vocalist at the time, caused controversy, as Black Sabbath is considered satanic by some Christians.[2] Livgren wrote that he chose Dio "strictly on the basis of his vocal abilities" as well as stating in his book "Seeds Of Change" that Dio "is no Satanist".

Ever since Black Sabbath fired Ozzy and replaced him with Dio, many people have held a childish grudge against Dio.
