Back when we all wore trench coats and tied the belt. Funny thing is this Walter wore his glasses on TV giving us that news yet in his interviews and his Time/Life video series on WWII he was never seen with his glasses.

Cronkite was an incredible journalist. Indefatigable. I remember a story about him that, while covering a space shot, he had a bathroom break during commercials, but the stall door in the men's room stuck, so he crawled underneath it in order to be back before the cameras on time.

We do have journalists of similar great character now, but the right-wing likes to drag them through the mud because they are not parrots.
