I noticed in one scene the top-notch captain in charge of the prosecuting team was having a casual drink of whiskey in his office while discussing a case. I just wondered are people allowed to drink on the job in the UK?

Didn't know they had a L&L spin off in the UK. They should run them in the U.S. I like most of the spin offs, they have a good formula, though they keep trending more and more toward the 'Woke' idiocy.

I like the UK Law & order so far. It's interesting also new stories and UK culture.
